I've visited Las Vegas once and Arizona a couple of times, I know how it feels.

haha when it’s the only track in town.. you adapt lol.. when I moved here there was a Friday night parking lot race with poor lighting.. this track is a blessing.. amazing facility

On major race days the swamp coolers are fully on and it will be around 80°F.. otherwise it’s a bit “sticky”

So you went to M06/07 springs, too? Or the older White ones from M05?
I´ll try to stick to the Gold ones first, at least in front, if possible...

Yes the older M06 / 42168 Short Touring Springs.. they’re black with red, yellow and blue markings.

They worked on M06 and I had extras..

Broke my first parts in car.. 2 c hubs back to back.. axle stub kept catching.. so I have now trimmed them down.

Im now attempting to get a class going again at my track. All we need is 3 and there are more than 3 at the track with M chassis.. they just need to bring their cars

Good luck Raman for motivating your friends! Up to now I did not break the C-Hubs during my first batteries. Thought it would happen earlier. Have finished my body now, quite happy with it, although it´s a copy of the former Carson Body. (not at the quality level of Tamiya)

Do you have a link to the body?

Body comes from: https://www.racersparadise.de/
At this moment it looks to be out of stock.

@Matthias, What Ride tires combi do you use on the M08 on asphalt?

Hi Erik Jan,
yes the body I sourced from Racers paradise. They do the reproduction of the original Carson version.

The ride tires were some old ones already used on my M07, so I tried SC30 in rear and some of the older SC32 in front. Worked already, but probably I could have gone up in the shore hardnesses, as we had still quite warm weather last weekend. I mainly tested damper positions, and tried now 5k diffoil. I also used the other Ackermann position in the steering, which I found to give me less or equal push in our hairpin, with less toe out, almost neutral toe. Car was great off throttle, totally planted and good steering. After the hairpin and another curve I had to be sensitive on the gas during accelerating, but for our asphalt track, which is not prepped, it was driveable.
Nevertheless I hope to get testing on carpet in autumn. I guess there is the opportunity to Show the potential of the M08 to the M07 drivers...
Kind regards,
Matthias

Its a good car against the M07. I qualified 2nd with my M08 at TCS finals and finished 3rd overall.

Congratulations Dan, great result!
Very good news. But now we want to know everything about your car, setup, track conditions! Could you give us some details please?

Matthias

Yup - we definitely need your set-up details Dan!!!

Have been checking in on this thread over the last few months whilst I've been writing up a review article on the M-08 for a UK magazine, I received my 'sample' M-08 kit back in May - but have only been able to get out & run the car in recent weeks... for the sake of the review i'm running it in completely stock trim. My track is indoors on Primafelt GT (grey) carpet & I must admit i'm quietly impressed. So far the tendency (surprisingly) is towards understeer - even in 210mm (short) wheelbase. My only real criticism of the car is the lack of what i'd class as suitable (drive layout) shells out there (especially from Tamiya) - I settled for the '300R' (Lotus Exige) shell from 'Phat Bodies' - not really intended for the M-chassis (designed to fit the X-press M-TC) - but with some imaginary shell trimming I think it looks OK
