Charts for Quick reference:

1) put inner bearing in hub
2) slide large shim over axle all the way up to the back of the axle
3) slide axle/bone into hub carrier
4) slide small shim onto axle through hub carrier
5) push outter bearing into hub carrier

using that i'm able to put my normal male silverback gorilla wheel nut tightening job and there's no binding. in the pictures that come with the shims (the pic socket posted) it seems like they want you to slide both shims onto the axle before sliding the axle into the hub carrier and like i said, that doesn't work.

I've traditionally done the diff screw head on the left side (driver's side), but have since switched to the Right side (passenger side) regardless of transmission type (3 gear RM vs 3 gear MM and 4 gear MM).

Kdub (Kurt Wenger, former AE designer) had this to say on the matter:

The right rear is the way the AE manuals state (or used to state). It really shouldn't matter since you go around turns both left and right.

recently bought a B6 kit and looking for replacements parts i found that the front arms are the flat ones, while the b6 actually comes with a gullwing front arms. :S
should i buy flat arms?
Edit: flat arm with front flat tower. Well, can anyone explain me why de b6 comes with b6d arms and the b6d with the b6 ones?

??????

B6 arms are supposed to be gullwing out of the box, B6d arms are supposed to be flat out of the box.

The b6 is geared towards carpet and astroturf. Among other things it has the gullwing arms and tower. The b6d(d for dirt) has flat arms and tower. The difference between the towers is the geometry so that the shock angles are correct for the corresponding arms. People on clay tracks will run flat arms and even gullwing arms, depending on a few things. Best advice is to ask around your track about what works better there. Or have both types of arms and towers and try them for different feel. They're direct swaps, nothing else needed to change

Yup, we've got three guys at one of my local tracks that could win 1/8 ebuggy sportsman by 2-3 laps with a 1/10 scale 2wd buggy. They're absolutely on rails and I can't stay within 3 seconds a lap of them on my best days with mod buggies. Gives me something to chase I suppose but I'm getting older and slower, not the other way around.

Yeah, thing is that what i found in amainhobbies is that they call flat arms as stock b6 and gullwing arms as stock b6d.

Don't pay attention to what amain has listed as far as that goes. Check the manual to verify.

I am noticing that none of the photos of the easy-access transmission case show what the front of the turnbuckle brace attaches to..

2nd picture on the shapeways site shows it connected to a cf battery strap. I'm sure somebody knows the name off the top of their heads.

Seems to be soft plastic. Not sure how well it'll hold up to crashes. Even the stock trans gives way and cracks with major crash.
