Got in another run on high traction carpet. was unable too podium and the car felt inconsistent on the rear end.
From what I could tell, it seemed to get upset over the bumps which the competition were able to glide over. Funny thing was my daughters vehicle actually was better. Which is a B6D with some settings from the B6 setup I am using, just not the b6 specific parts and still a ball diff.
The big difference I think is that my springs are stiffer than what she is running. Basically 1 rate below stock B6 (from memory I think gray?) and the Orange front springs with me running purples. I am thinking with a softer setup it may handle that bumpy section a bit better but still handle well around the rest of the track.
I also noticed I needed a tick more rear bite so I went 1mm down on the rear ballstud mount and that seemed to help.
I am hoping the track will be open for a test and tune day before the next race day (about 2 hr drive).
I'll post my setup but was basically running this but used:
- PT Racing oils about 50CST lighter than the conversion value.
- 3K diff fluid
- 17.5 blinky class
In short, running this setup:

Are any of the later carpet setups a better option?

B6D Outdoor Setup Guide
Hi all,
Based on lots of testing and racing down here in Australia (and at the Reedy Outdoor race), I have compiled a setup guide for the B6D on these sorts of tracks. The platform is hugely adjustable and we are learning all of the time, but I hope this helps some of you running on lower grip / bumpier tracks.
Any questions, hit up my help thread, send a PM or hit me up on Facebook.

Cain, I had good luck on carpet with the box stock setup. Now you have me concerned because I just copied Cav's setup, but using 37.5/30 weight oils. I also have added the titanium screws, brass front bulkhead, and MIP rollers for gear diff. Oh, also using blue front, white rear swaybars. I won't know how it does until later this month....
I also have the MIP Rollers for the gear diff and i am running the VRP battery tray setup that eliminates the waterfall.
A lot of it could be the conditions here.
The carpet is a mix of grey ozite and something "tan". the tan stuff can get "bumpy" in the areas it bunches and at times has more traction than the ozite. Then, the landing carpet has less traction than the ozite, so on some sections the landing is right after a jump into a 180 turn so the rear end could come around on you. That is where I decided to go down 1 shim on the rear ballstud mount.
But our conditions may not be common as "carpet" due to the bumpiness and I am thinking spring change could be the ticket. I am also a driver who needs my setup to be pretty ideal, then I can wheel it fairly well. with my kids with didn't have a time to tune. but will see how it goes. had fun though.
And this being AE, I expect to see setups from time to time out there versus how things were with my Durango.

Have some Alum. Rear Hubs on my SC5m. But I love the B6D way more so was thinking to switch them to the B6D - is it worth the upgrade / the work?
