I had kyosho 5 hole pistons in my ae shocks for awhile and they were by far the smoothest they've ever been. But even with 40/35 oil I needed a bit more pack for my local track conditions. Worth a try though

I am sure it has been asked but any set up sheets from this years Reedy Race? I check the AE website and no go.

as i said before i dont like how much "blow-by" ae pistons seem to have, but cannot find a true 2x 1.7 12mm piston from any company, short of buying blanks and making my own that is...
looking at losi 4x57 or 4x56 tho... or maybe avid 2+2 1.6/1.1 pistons... anyone running anything non-ae in the big bores they have found they like in the buggy? http://www.teamassociated.com/news/l...ock_Pistons%21 |
I dont think he likes tapered pistons

I go mainly to two tracks, one with high traction where slicks are the only tire used and another that is very loose with little water. My high traction set up is pretty good but I'm trying to figure out what I need to do to the car for loose conditions. I have the AE's recommended big bore set up, black front spring 30wt, 1.6 piston and the rear has a white spring, 27.5wt, 1.6 piston. The only thing I change for the loose track is a green rear sping which helps. The rest of my set up is below.
2 washers under the front ball stud 1 washer under rear ball stud Ballast weight 5 grams in rear and front triangles Ride height 24mm |
I tried a full pack this week and it terrible. I am going to play with shorty positions to ge the right front to rear feel. I thought with the BB it would be plush with the full pack, wrong. Felt like i had no pack and the rear was all over the place. lol, I am about ready to put my v2's back on with the losi pink pistons.
