use Proline CC inserts then. They seem to wear out the fastest from my experience. I would think a worn CC insert would be much better than a reg CC insert from the way you describe things.

Also, does anyone use the TQ wire 4mm connectors? I am unsure if the 14mm or the 18mm is needed. I would guess the 18mm, but I wanna double check before I order some. |

I think we all know about the new AKA premounts by now. I am not sure how many of you run the impacts or handlebars, but the pricing on these look very good. I dont think the hexlites rear are the best, but they are pretty decent. I know if you are reusing your reds and dont like the hexlites, then this is probably not a great deal. But for others, this might be a nice cost saver.
"AKA introduce the pre-mounted Handlebar and Impact 1/10th buggy tyres. Both treads are available in soft and super soft compounds and they feature the standard Red inserts and your choice of white or yellow Hexlite wheels." Wheel = 6.89 Tire = 11.99 Insert = 7.19 total = 26.07 Towers Premount Price: 20.99 (amain does not have them listed yet) http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXDHKD&P=7 |
weird, I was using the AKA part number to search and it didnt come up. But i just did a text search and found them, thanks.

yeah, the local say the reds get better after broken in. If i had some in older tires, I would just cut them out and reuse. But i need to get some reds and break them in, lol. If I could find some used reds locally, I would give that a shot. I currently have PL blues on my buggy. I would not really say they are wearing out fast. Maybe by the time the tire is shot, they will be good.

You can run them over with your car in the driveway to break them in. I've also been told, thougb I haven't tried it, that spraying them with WD40 and throwing them in a ziploc overnight breaks them in nicely. |

tbh what im about to say could be very wrong indeed.... but i noticed that when i removed some vectors from a set of rims last week that the fume method seemed to soften up the aka red foams to a very nice point, so maybe the fume method on some new foams might speed up the break in process.

Is there any advantage to using ball studs other than the stock Team Associated ones? I realize Lunsford has some titanium ones, but, they're $50+ and that ain't gonna' happen.
Any other options that are worth spending the extra $$ on? |
I recently bought some jconcepts wheels for a B4.1 and they fit.
I also glued up 2 different sets of barcodes, gold compound and green compound. The greens are super soft the golds are kinda hard. I got these for indoor tracks. Outdoor I'll be running ribs and Jconcepts flipouts. |
For the guys running 5-10 min heats, what size lipos are you guys running? My sons car has a 5000 25c pack and runs 45 mins - 1hr depending. If I plan to race, I don't think I would need a 5000? Thanks!
