A new setup was posted on the AE site. It is pretty standard, but does use the 1.4 pistons and a longer rear link.

Thanks, I'll skip those for now. How does look besides electronics?

I don't see why all the carbon stuff is necessary out of the box. Play with them as a tuning aid try plastic first since its already there. I bent the crap out of the Jconcepts wing mounts on my 22. I had a SCTE land on top of me coming off a jump. They tweaked real bad. Most others running them havent seemed to have problems. Maybe just my bad luck but I wont be using them.

In my opinion you dont need the carbon rear arms. Running carbon rear arms will take away flex and traction from the car and should only be used on extreme high bite tracks.

all looks good , include a set of rear B44 arms for when traction is less .

At Trcr we switch to the carbon rear arms once track breaks in and traction comes up.

I think the wing mounts are kind of a waste. The carbon parts are a matter of preference. I'd drive with the regular ones for a good while before swapping them out. Also, it depends how you drive. If you're sloppy, you'll break them pretty quickly.

As always, I recommend the RPM front bumper, too.

I tried the front bumper. It digs in too much on my soft track, so I put it on my t4, lol. Many of the pro's are running the alum mounts, and I dont get why? Bling? Sponsor says so? More weight up high for tuning?

looks fine but one thing... if you are running on a track that requires greens, chances are it's not high bite. Which means I would leave the plastic parts on. Plastic has a little more flex, which translates to a little more grip.

I looked at the dex210. I read and read and talked to people, then decided it was a bad idea. Then a local bought one after he tried the B4.1 and the TLR22, I can say for sure that he lost an entire lap with the dex210, when he was not broken. And he rarely crashes and our track is like racing on pillows. very spongy clay. I have never seen a car fall apart as much as the 210. The dex410r v3, seems to be the opposite and very good though.

Durability isn't the issue at all...aside from the normal weak part which was rear tower..
Buggy was just very lazy on the track I was a lot more consistent my b4.1.

mihaelbencek 03-19-2013 11:59 AM

Sorry because that's the associated thread, but whats wrong with the dex210?
Whats better with the b4.2 compare to the dex210?

Is the drive train of the b4.2 smoother then the durango ones?

Thank you

honestly when i debated another 2wd buggy, I spoke with someone who had a variety of them and at one point was really happy with his dex210. the main thing I got from him was that it didn't feel consistent and he actually recommended for me to go with the associated b4 or rb6. Since I am not made of money and have had b4's in the past, decided to go with it again.

The dex210 I did have here for a bit on a whim looked good, its plastic on its parts felt a bit more pliable than I would have liked, namely the shock towers, etc. Maybe I was expected too much from the vehicle since its price point wasn't lightyears more than the b4, but based on the durango name I was expecting a bit more versus going the upgrade route with tresrey parts.

Again, no knock on the vehicles performance wise as I never drove mine competitively before I sold it, just initial impressions from having it to view as well as what I read on the dex210 thread for stuff to upgrade.

My buddies laugh at me because I keep trying to run another brand car but never end up doing it. LOL

I've owned 2 TLR 22s now and haven't had either touch the track. I tried to get a Durango but the guy flaked on me. So I still have my AE. It's like that old girlfriend that you keep going back to cause she knew how to touch you in the naughty spots right :D

One of these days I'm going to bite the bullet and get the sexy supermodel (RB6). Chances are she will only abuse me though and make me wish I had my old girl back

The yokomo looks interesting Bob and they are cost effective. do it then tell me all about it :)

Don't bother running anything else. I had an RB6 and sold it after a week. Great car, just can't justify the cost of both the kit itself and parts. Plus if it breaks on the road, you'd better have your own ($$$) parts supply. I ran a 22, didn't like the lack of acceleration coming out of corners. Another great car, it just didn't fit my style.

My buggy progression Cougar SV > RB5 > B4.1 > 22 > B4.1 > RB6 > B4.1, and I'm contemplating picking up a 4.2 today.

I'd really like to give mid-motor another try. I'm thinking about grabbing an X-factory ride to try in stock buggy. My Cougar was pretty good when it wasn't eating transmissions.

elex300 03-19-2013 01:48 PM

Kind of funny how Cav runs everything inline and everyone follows. Now Evans runs a race with his 22 mid motor and everyone on the 22 thread is jumping to that.

Wildcat1971 03-19-2013 02:46 PM

lol, some of the setup sheets for the CC race are listing traction as "insane", lol.
