Sweet looking truck man. I always take a pic to remember how nice it looked before I race them.

Man I've had my tc6.2 and this since like December and have gotten to race my TC once is it.. I hate letting it sit as much as I hate letting it go. But its $ I can use for something I have time to enjoy. :-(

Nice!
Can you measure the track width with a tape measure or whatever you have? At ride height with the lipo in the chassis.

Nice body Chuck. Anyone know if tekno is going to make aluminum shock caps with a screw sealable vent for emulsion shocks?

It has been a while, but last time I talked to them this was not planned.

broke my first stub axle in over a year and a lot of racing. thought my day was over. luckily i threw in a complete scte axle and finished out the day. even tqed and finished second in the main. i probably wont even bother trying to fix it "right" for a while. the tekno axles are expensive.

Just run what works.

Finally got to test my tekno at the local track. The track wasn't setup, it was dry and loose and incredibly dusty, and my calibers have seen better days, but it let me get some impression of the characteristics of my build.

Savox 1258TG
HW SCT Pro 120a
HW 3656SD 4000KV
17t pinion
Futaba antennaless receiver,
Mylaps transponder

Stock tuning setup
Tekno air guards, metal servo horn, aluminum center shaft, and metal hexes
Getting some lunsford turnbuckles for it I think. Used them on my slash and they're great, very light light and easier to adjust.

It seemed to cause my SMC packs to swell a little after use, I'll see if that swell is just temporary.

The truck was extremely planted and predictable, I had to be carful to be precise with the steering because it will go exactly where you point. The HW combo really ripped through the straights. With a little clip on motor heatsink I ran the battery to 30% and the motor was 120f, awesome! 25f ambient.

Here's a post-fun pic

If they could make the hex part of that kit narrower by what... 4mm per side that's all you need to stop breaking axles and have a nuke proof wheel/hex interface.

You also pick up the benefit of having more surface area against the wheel to resist side twisting improving performance in turns :tire:

Tekno... hear us knocking on your door? :sneaky:

Great post man!

Who else besides DE makes SC wheels with 17mm hexs?
If only DE, are they good wheels? I had some DE SC wheels a while ago and they were terrible, very soft and the hexs stripped easily.
Maybe the 17mm hex versions are better.

I May have been running the wrong wheel offset, never broke and axle though.

Would someone mind posting the part # for the correct offset Jconcepts hazard wheel.

Thanks in advance

Randy

I bought some but realized the hexes were buggy width and unmounted the tires from them before trying out. They are the same dish style as the 12mm and those have become my standard as they resisted rounding out the longest.

I think AE also makes 17mm SC wheels for the SC8 (which is what the DE ones are made for as well)
