I made up some new piston... 6x1.50 and will try these with some stiffer springs and the stock ones and see what happens.
All I have to do is polish them up and install.

Looks good. I wonder if having the holes that close to the center of the piston will effect how the piston will move through the oil.

What changes did you do too stop the traction rolling?

I was trying to take steering out of the truck so I added front camber, -3, maxed out the front kickup and moved the front inner camber link to the upper inside position. I also raised the ride height. Was trying to run the truck low, at around 25-26mm but wasn't working and didn't land the big jumps well. I raised it to 29mm w/o the body and it did everything better. I think with the low ride height it was bottoming out the shock, causing it to roll over. Maybe with some stiffer springs I could run it lower. I'm currently running Durango buggy front red springs and losi 15mm green springs in the rear. Running the stock pistions with 30wt front and 25wt rear.

It might but I don't think it matters to much. Being closer in (to me) would seem to keep the piston from binding to one side or the other since it is closer to center..
I just built one shock and they are SMOOTH..........

It may even have more pack. I will be waiting to hear what you think of them.

I have the yellow/white/black tekno..
I just pulled the pistons out and since I have a small machine shop (gun shop) I am going to make me some delrin pistons. I will make them 6x1.50 to give me 10.60
Pretty much the same as 8x1.3 and see what happens. I run 7/7/3 and am happy with that but thanks for the tips on the springs and tires..

any interest in making some pistons? I'd be interested in trying an avid style setup where they run 2 different hole sizes.

I'll probably go back to 3k in the rear in the cooler temps at that track and with the extra rear toe. Problem for me was that it was getting really dusty in the hot sun and was diffing out around the turns in the rear.

when you had that issue, were you running 2 o-ring uptravel limiters or 4? what was your sway bars setup as well?

I'll let you know.. They have tighter clearances than the stock plastic ones but as for pack.... I went with the spec's that are on the first page to get my numbers so they should work like the 8x1.3's and they are free which is a good thing to me. Once I made a jig for the holes it only takes me about 5 min. ea. (from lathe to mill) to make from a 5/8" od delrin rod. I am a gun builder by trade but like to make little parts for my rc stuff. I used to make delrin wheels for rc drag cars back in the day.

Let me see how these work and then I'll post. Looks like another race this Sat. so I'll give em a go...lol I won't have springs to test by this weekend so it may or may not work right with stock springs.
Maybe just change the rears to give them more pack???

I haven't tried the HD, but you should be happy with this motor. I run mine with a 16t and it's pretty quick. Temps after a 10min main outdoors was around 140.

Is that with a heat sink?

Yes that was with the novak heatsink, but it was pretty hot that day.
