Setup changes aren't often absolute because of the various other setup attributes interacting with one another.

Braces

When you guys talk about removing middle and rear braces what exactly are you talking about?
I'm trying to get rid of the rear end breaking loose on very lose sand here in Florida.

Pulled out 2nd in the "Dash for Cash" last night in e-scale and 4x4 sct and really had the setup nailed til the sun went down. I let a few guys take a whorl before qualifying. I love letting non believers take a few laps with my cars. Turns a "I didn't think these were any good, no one runs them." Into "wow".

Wow this truck really reacts to setup changes if your setup is similar to mine with the exception of shock location and rear camber. You are having almost the exact opposite issue than I am with traction rolling instead of sliding out. Good to hear from someone who runs the Tekno @ WCRC. I usually make it to the track on Thursday nights for practice. When do you go there? Would to be cool to meet up and talk setup. I drive the gold and dark grey truck.

Tires also play a huge roll in grip. I'm running gold bar codes at wcrc and they hook up really well. I just bought a set of Ions that I'm gonna try next. I feel like I have almost too much side grip causing me to traction roll at the sweeper. I usually go on Tuesday nights, but I'm down to go on a Thursday too.

I notice in the manual for the rear brace it shows to use the right hole but it looks like the left hole on the gearbox is the only hole that works and lines up with the chassis.

Is this a mistake in the manual?

Also will I need shims for my gearbox? I just got the kit this week.

Mistake in manual on brace and it should have came with shims and an addendum if you need them otherwise no. Have fun building!

The shims and the instruction note are not in the first shipment of kits that went out during launch week, so if anyone wants/needs them, just send us an email and we’ll send them out to you ASAP (TKR1226).

So the newer kits don't require the shim then?

Well unless you somehow got a 1st run kit then there is A. An addendum with the shims in box, there may even be 2 seals on the box one which was cut to add addendum and a new one on top if you had 2nd run, or B. you have the updated version and don't need to worry about it. If your still uncertain just build the diff and case and if there's binding because of the pinion gear add shims but I'm 99% you have the new version.

Anyone running the Ferroni pistons? if yes what brand and weight shock oils and springs are you running with them. Also when installing do the large holes go up or down.

Thanks

Big holes up.

Tekno Pink up front orange in rear. 35 front oil 30 rear. Some are running even heavier shocks

Decided out of guilt, to check over my entire truck. (it's been since release that i've touched my CVA's, bearings, hingepins, etc) Found something interesting.

Huge pics for a reason. Check out that damage! I took the bearings off the axle, and they literally fell apart. :weird:

Mind you! These axles are 6 months old easy and have never 'EVER' been touched since build night. Just thought i'd throw this up since I haven't been driving a whole lot. (SC is slim pickin's right now... )

Finished it up, will get to run it tomorrow if I'm lucky.
