I have never seen the need for a 4 pole in 2wd sc racing on a track. Are you running in a mod SC class? Why not just get a 7.5 2 pole sensored motor?

Wow a 4 pole in a 2wd SCT. That is a lot of motor. More than you can really use. I have been to NewRed Hobbies in Ocala and you have pretty good grip there so you could add weight to the front or move you battery forward. I would also recommend replacing that massive power with something more mild. How is the RC racing in your area? My parents live in Lesburg.

I always assumed you raced the novice/sportsman class and I in no way think that motor should be in your truck. Even thought the castle 4 poles are ok, you would like the sensored systems more I am sure. That motor is going to wear out your drive terrain pretty quick. I would get a smoother lower powered system if you are indeed at the novice/sportsman level. Faster motors almost always make novice drivers slower on the track and break a lot more. Those castle systems are designed for bashing and drag racing your buddy on the street. If you insist on racing with all that motor, I would add 1lbs of weight to get you up to a 4x4 weight :)

going on to my third season with the sc10, i would say stick with a 17.5,10.5 or 8.5. tons of hp only equals trouble.

btw, just ordered my a-arms-shocktower-body mounts. now i have a sc10.2 with a minimal investment.

let's race some 2wd sc, a real mans class

Well I was running a 3500 4pole when I started in novice, and then it was like I would get left behind, so I bought a castle sidewinder 3800 4pole and now I dont get left behind, and I was only in novice at newreds like 2 times lol, and at the other track I never ran novice heehe, cause the fastest lap was like a 29.30 and I got a 29.03 just within the first time I practiced heehe, and the guy that owns it(I am friends with him)was like u ain't no novice!!! So I am in the mod section heehee....and I do have a 7.5 2pole in my hpi blitz heehee(I'm assuming it's 2 pole cause the magnets don't seem as hard to turn as the castle!!

There are three that I kno of, new reds and rrws, and some other track in ocala by the airport but I never been there lol and weights will never go into my truck:sneaky: and I have a smaller motor, I have a 3500 a 3600 and 3900 and I like the 3800 castle the best:) because it's perfect for new reds cause I need the umph I guess u can call it:)

you have lakepark in lutz(north tampa) and b&b in hudson 1hr to 1 1/2 from ocala

Our Novice class is restricted to 17.5 motors. Mod 2wd SC runs 7.5 and 8.5 motors. A castle 3800 is a lot of motor in 4wd i couldn't imagine trying to control it in 2wd.

It is super crazy lol, but i am not to throttle happy hah, and i have the punch control at 80% on my controller, so it dont do to bad....the average laps at the track are 20-23 seconds....I make a 21.03 with it so it's not to bad, and they restrict the novice!? Not at my tracks they don't really hold nothing from novice, maybe 1/8 scale lol, it's a WILD class lol....

tlee13 05-14-2013 09:26 PM

I had the castle sidewinder esc and motor in my blitz and it wasn't that bad.

Yah it's not to bad, just gotta be cuareful not to punch to hard coming out of the corners, it will spin out or just understeer into the wall lol

I was checking out the new Tekin RS and RX8 Gen2 and noticed that they offer a 4 pole Pro2 motor that requires the RX8. It is a 540 can with 1/8" shaft but still the 16.5mm rotor and 4 pole guts. So theblitzkid may not be off base here. Anyone use the Pro2 motor? At $150 retail it may be too much cost for most people.

Wildcat1971 05-15-2013 10:40 AM

lol, seriously? a pro2 in a 2wd truck.....I say pro4 hd or go home.....

I am seriously considering this for my next upgrade. I was looking at the new Gen2 RX8 for my 8th scale and migrate the first gen RX8 for the SC10 2wd with a Pro2 motor. 5800Kv would be so much motor!

Hell why not jam a T8 in there:lol:.

Wildcat1971 05-15-2013 12:03 PM

the fact that it requires a rx8 say a lot lol. The rs pro can run a 2.5T motor, but not this one... The is no need at all for a 4 pole in 2wd SC racing.
