I saw people doing that to the T4. Might be a good idea. She slides sideways sometimes and hits the pipe with the side of the wheel. And I think that is what is snapping the rears. I will look around for some cheap links. By lowers the entire link by the same amount, I though more traction was the result? Or is that backward?

is this all I would need?

Yeah, you can also use the 80mm links and cut around 1/4" off each side. This allows the threads to go deeper into the ball cups. Maybe a longer ball stud for the u brace, i cant remember what size i used.

Matt,

What do you think the best SC tires for CV would be? A couple guys swear by the calibers and a few swear by gridirons/double Dee. I dont get the Caliber tires. I drove a kids b4 that ran them and it sucked bad. I am not sure the enduros are the right tire. A lot of the losi xxxsct guys run DD's or Gridirons. The sc10 guys are mostly retarded, lol. No 2 guys run the same tire.

I have not broken a ballcup yet (not for lack of trying, lol).

For the local track here that's outdoors, it's blue groove, loose, dusty, very hard.

I have been running M3 Blockades in the rear and M3 Sliers in the front. When it's wet I ran M3 Tazers in the rear and they were really good, but the Blockades are much easier to drive and more consistent and great when it's dry.

Run what the fast guys are running...or ask Casey. I always ran DD's

Wildcat, pm me if you want some 4x4 rear links. I have 2 complete turnbuckle sets (with ballstuds) for the sc10 4x4 I got off eBay (new take offs) I have no use for....

Matt,
you ran green DD front and rear?

I think I ran oranges up front. I only ran at cv a couple times.

So many threads, not really sure where to post this. Track is switching from boosted 17.5 to mod 2wd SCT this year. Can I get suggestions as to which motor and what gearing I should start with on my FT SC10? 8.5, 10.5, 13.5 ??? What pinion/spur? Track has one long sweeping backstretch and then a half dozen medium stretches with various tables, doubles and triples. Clay track that occasionally develops a blue grove but is dusty in the long sweeper. Usually run Hole Shots or Square Fuzzies. Sometimes Barcodes if it blues up.

Thanks

What do you plan to do with your truck?

heavyjeffd 12-19-2012 08:19 AM

Depending on the size of the track, either an 8.5 or a 10.5. If its larger or outdoor I'd go 8.5, indoor or on the smaller side I'd go 10.5.

Wildcat1971 12-19-2012 08:34 AM

we dont have a mod SC class around here. That is why I asked what his plan was. . If he wants to race at his local track, he would need to find out what classes run at the track. Getting a 7.5 when they only run a 17.5 class would be pointless.

If they run 17.5 stock, get a 17.5
If they run a 13.5 stock class get a 13.5
if they run Mod get a 7.5 or 8.5

Thanks for the response. It is an outdoor track but I wouldnt say "large". I consider "large" something you could run 1/8 scale on. they run some 1/8 on this track but its not really made for it.

So say I start out with an 8.5. I'll be running a Novak Havoc Pro SC with Ballistic 8.5. What pinion/spur would you start at on an SC10. I will adjust based on drive and heat but dont want to get out there and fry something on the 2nd lap before I test temps.

Thanks.
