I was also considering some other air control devices over nurf bars like the Tekno SCT410 guys are doing. This may help a bit.

A friend of mine is one of the first guys that jumped to the 4-pole motor and is sponsored by Tekin. He is planning to get the Pro2 motor for his 2wd SCT. Since these trucks are based on the real LOORS and TORC series I don't see any reason these new 4-pole motors would not be cool to run. It would make the Mod SCT 2wd class run more like the real thing. 900HP in a 2wd truck is crazy!!

That's what I mean, if u can learn to control that much power, then ur gonna be one heck of a driver....

It's not crazy lol, it takes skills:)

So as I start to plan my new SC10.2 kit I want to get this new Tekin Pro2 motor. I am used to the 8.5/7.5 Ballistic motor up to now. I don't want to get the top Kv motor so I think I will get the 5100Kv Pro2 motor to start. Gearing should be similar to an 8.5t then right or can the 4-Pole use a taller gearing?

Wildcat1971 05-16-2013 09:08 AM

The tekin motor is at least sensored. That would make it a lot easier to drive. I still think its way too much motor. please dont compare 5100kv 4 pole to a 8.5 motor, lol it is a LOT more motor than an 8.5. I would treat it more like a 5.5 or 6.5. who knows, maybe the next big thing will be 4 pole in 2wd buggy.

theblitzkidd 05-16-2013 09:45 AM

My bother drives a buggy with a 4pole in it, and it's insane fast!!!

samuelsonmark71 05-16-2013 09:53 AM

I have seen the people running 4 poles in 2wd sc, and yes they are fast. The funny thing is when I stay my lines and lap them a time or two. What really pisses me off is coming off the straight when they go kamakazi and rip the rear of your truck off (basically happened last week)

Undersood Wildcat. If I go to this Pro2 motor I may want to get a lower KV and run tall gears to balance the power out more. I am getting very used to driving at low thottle pull with my 8th scales. The 7.5t Ballistic is already a lot of motor and at some tracks I have to reduce the power.

I had that happen last weeks race, I lapped the 7th place driver, and as I tried passing him he plowed me in the side and took off a turnbuckle, I lost 2 positions cause of it, funny thin is, he was setup right next to me on the pit area, and whn i got off the track he could see I was pissed and he was like I'm sorry man it was an accident....I didn't say anything hahaha

See that pisses me off too, I've never had anything break my buggy truck just flips. And its annoying.
I put a 4 pole motor in my 2wd scb and I love it. Quick as he** and always fun to pull wheelies.

Does any one know the correct weight of this part GHEA2060 Front bulk head brass.
AMain says 30grams and GHEA's site says 20 grams

Yeah, just last weekend, I basically now need a new body. Was getting set up for cross over jump (10 ft gap) that came right off the straight (bump right before a 45 degree corner), so I slowed down ever so slightly, and bam! Rear end of my body is only held together now by shoe goo and drywall tape. Good thing I paint my own stuff...

you should show us a video of this sweet 4 pole racing action.

I had to put in my ol 1406 castle 5700, had a main bearing fail in my 7.5. I forgot how awesome 4 poles are, I can run 20 mins strait in practice and the motor is 115, Speedo cool, and battery cool. Front wheels stay about a half inch off the ground the entire strait. :)
I can't imagine I would be a good idea with less traction though.
