Anyone done it and with what mod?
It fits. if you run the sensor cable, run the cable out the center of the car and cut a hole in the mount for it to pass through.

No other mods necessary, it is tight fit but works. The wires for the reciever/switch come out on the body side. I taped those down to reduce the chances of chafing by rubbing on the body.

Default Mod?

Has anyone tried an Associated Plastic Spur (RC8++) on the centre diff? I see everything appears to be the same fit?

I ask as I have a half dozen lying around brand new, and Serpent have one but I cant find it in any parts list atm...

FYI, for anyone reading, M3x20 were the perfect size on my buggy to go through the ball and locknut. A 25mm screw would be too long on the front end and would hit the steering components, unless you put the locknut in front of the front shock tower.

I ll measure tomorrow and confirm. We use a washer on the front side as well which I forgot to mention. our fit is tight very close the the steering components but no rubbing.

I was just on the Serpent website, trolling their forum for information but there doesnt seem to be much if any activity there.

At any rate. I'm interested in a Serpent designed short course truck. I know it doesnt exist at this moment in time but has anybody out there with good contacts, heard anything regarding the possibility of a short course truck offering from Serpent?

After eyeballing the Serpent, Tekno, Durango & Team C 1:8ebuggy's I finally jumped into the FORCE series' 1st stop at Space Coast RC in Cocoa Florida yesterday with a freshly built Serpent. After an all-night build Fri. the 1st time it saw clay was during the 1st qualifier which landed the 7-spot out of about 45 (2nd qual was a test of the wrong tires). At the end of the main after getting hacked in the 1st turn to last place (laying behind a marshal unknowingly), it worked my way into the 5-spot of a very fast pack. The lightweight, 2-2cell pack layout is what swayed me from going with Tekno.

Driving impressions coming from an Associated 8be: 18-degrees cooler motor temps with at least 30% more acceleration and 15% more top end. Turn in was like driving a 1:10 4wd buggy in 1:8th form (much like my SSC 4x4 SC-truck). On power bank/turn speed was also phenomenal. Absolutely no durability issues. It's a race tuned out-of-the-box precision machine.

I'm going to experiment with grease in the rear diff and softer inserts in the rear tires v. front tires to see how much carve speed is obtainable before breaking it's rear loose (with a bit more forgiveness afterwards). Also used to planting the nose on the brake in some landings whereas the Serpent benefits from setting the attitude before landing and using the throttle on landing.

Currently Serpent is entering many new segments and they are reviving the old 1/8 F1 that is in demand at the moment. Mainly finishing the Sport line RTR line. basically when you go to the cars page you see the expected stuff that are dimmed. they will come out first.

Short course is an unknown anywhere but USA. I know the Truggy e had been put on shelf because there was simply not too much interest in the truggy class.

I was thinking about making a SC out of a Truggy. change the shocks, towers and arms with the buggy and try a SC body on it.

Its all a demand thing.

Hi,
maybe someone can help me.
I have an Hyperion charger EOS 730I NET3 and I bought this adapter in order to charge the 2 (3S) batteries that I asked for this but I got this As you can see a red wire is missing. So do you know if this will work without the red wire or what should I do ?
Any suggestions?
Sorry about the image, I don't know how to resize it in here.
Nog.
