I didn't drill anything while it was in the truck. I took the parts off of/ out of the truck and assembled them. Then stuck them in the vise and drilled it.

thanks, That would probably work. I ended up ditching all the internal gears and replaced them w/ the rebuild kit.

Although, the shims in the rebuild kit were at least twice as thick as the stockers. I tried to build the diff w/ those thick shims, wouldn't work. I had to use the stock shims.

Diff feels good now, hopefully that awful sound will be gone.

Yes I have Sway bars. Wondering if I need to have any spare parts on hand.

I am getting idle gears, Diff cases, and a belt for spares. I already have the RPM arms which you may want to consider. I want to get the FT shocks, Turnbuckles, and aluminum screws. I also plan to build a chassis brace using my RC8 chassis brace for parts. I just need a tube and some threaded rod.

Damn all's I can say is that I am more then happy I bought my sc10 4x4........ Its been almost two months since I've been able to hit the track and I finally got a chance to today........... It took me a little while to get used to the track layout since it is a whole new setup since I've been there, but after about 2 battery packs I was turning in some very good lap times... I love my setup with the rx8 and tekin pro 4 motor, the only thing I think my truck needs is some more weights in certain area's to balance it out........ Other then that even after I crashed alot (some at full speeds) nothing broke ;-)

I am purchasing a belt and aluminum screws. Trying to decide on some wheels and tires. I have read people like the JConcepts Hazard wheels. Has anyone ran the AKA Cyclone wheels. They seem to increase the width 1/2 inch over stock wheels. Any suggestions on wheels and tires.

I think that 1/2 inch would be wider than the body. My Hazard wheels fit right to the limit.

Does the Hazard wheels make any difference in handling?

Well...you'll need to talk to people who race the tracks in your area for tire selection suggestions. What works for me here in MO won't necessarily work for you in NC.

As for the wheels...I'm running the JC Hazard wheels and like them very much. Only change I made was mounting some PL Suburb 2.0's (the go-to-tire at my track) on those wheels and I picked up about a lap per 5 minute heat and dropped my average lap by a second...which is pretty good considering the fast lap for SCT's is mid 16 seconds (it's a short tight track in an area about 78 by 50...high bite clay/dirt mix)!

YRMV but needless to say, I'm sold on the Hazard wheels!

Anybody know if a b4/t4 idler would function as a stand in replacement for the one we would normally run in the rear transmission? Wasted one today and of course I'm out of replacements for the race tomorrow...damn.

WEll guys i am back from yet another loooooong day racing at the RCpro finals! funny how we get stuck in over simplifiying everything while trying to find a setup. my lesson for these past few days is to not forget the basics. i had a real hard time yesterday with the truck, just didnt feel right. after reading some of your suggestions and the fact that we have had no practice since wed, any changes you make need to work or you waste a round. so today i got to the track, went 1.5* toe in and -1* camber in the front and it completely settled down the truck! KAPPOW truck cam alive, first round i ran quick enough to make the A main (in a normal style race) second round it got quicker! BUT the way this race is run you get the best 3 out of 5 quals to determine the mains. since i had a real crappy day yesterday i only finished 1 round in SC and left before the third round. so this put me 3rd in the B main with a 2 man bump. tone goes off and i managed to get out front by the third turn and pretty much check out UNTIL lap traffic comes up and i get MALAYED sending me all the way back to 5th:flaming: i managed to catch back up to third within 2 seconds but it was not looking like i could catch him in time but wouldnt ya know it the Losi that was leading DUMPED:lol: so i am now in the triple A mains for tomorrow. during the second qual the rear was getting loose so i switched to SS rebars in the back with soft holeshots in the front. Truck felt awesome in the main, super fast (thanx sourdiesel for the 4600!!) plenty of punch! the bad new is that Ryan Lutz is here and that dude is FAAAAAST his freakin SC laptimes are faster than 99% of pro E buggy!! only E buggy quicker is himself and an AE sponsered guy, the Rango is impressive!
so in the SC main there are 10 Losi's, 1 Rango and one SC10!

Widens the truck. Anything wider is going to handle better. That's a Staple.

Thanks for the quick responses and good info. Looks like I will purchase some Hazard wheels. Any parts I should keep on hand or what are the first to need replacing? Concerning brands of tires, any preferences between AKA, Proline and JConcepts?
