I ordered a new shaft and plate to try out the pin mod since I'll probably screw it up the first time didn't want to be without a truck while I replaced the messed up part.
I'm want to use my dremel since I have the drill press stand for it, what type/size bit should I use? I'll probably use a traxxas hinge pin from the casters as I have a few bent ones that could be put to use, either that or a spare wheel nut pin (from rustler) |

I'm really curious about this new exotekracing lcg chassis coming out for our trucks. Supposedly it's going to add 5oz more weight to our truck and be stronger. What are other peoples thoughts on this? Glorified metal or beneficial to help our trucks out? Post your thoughts up!

I put a 4mm washer between the spring and nut as well as scratched up the pads and made some grind marks on the disks and now it wheelies like crazy. Full power is restored. Now I can set my slipper to barely slip and still have the power I need. I guess I will find out how long this will last. Going to put a pack through it right now.

For a hundred bucks? Meeehh.
I'm sure it does keep weight lower than just sticking it to the chassis, but to me personally I don't think it's worth a bill. |

Well worth 100bux, beautiful machine work! i will definitely try it out when its available, hopefully it will be hard anodized which i am sure it will.
that machine work definitely looks nice, this could also eliminate any chassis flex as well. i don't think 100 is to bad, depends on how much that extra time means to you on the track and staying ahead of the game, guess we'll see when it's released! |
Finished another pack and it still slips. Its good for a couple laps then the power loss that is very noticeable. What's the easiest/fastest way to pull the tranny out. Going to take it to the in laws to do the pin mod. God this is real irritating. It almost feels like a lipo cut once it slips.

Are you running a clutch basket & the tan high torque pads?

What the best way to disassemble the truck to get the diffs out?

Great now im melting solder on my bullet plugs to my lipos. Got to figure that out so I can run my truck again.

Oh ya baby!!! I had my wife hold the shaft while I drilled it and wow is it so much better. Well worth the mod for anyone looking to do it. I used the stock wheel pins from the kit and a 5/16 bit. Very easy to do and definitely worth it. I only drove it around the front yard since it is dark but from what I can see/feel it's definitely an improvement. Tomorrow I will test it out on the track and post back with results. Thanks for the help and the awesome mod.
