KAPPOW truck cam alive, first round i ran quick enough to make the A main (in a normal style race) second round it got quicker! BUT the way this race is run you get the best 3 out of 5 quals to determine the mains. since i had a real crappy day yesterday i only finished 1 round in SC and left before the third round. so this put me 3rd in the B main with a 2 man bump. tone goes off and i managed to get out front by the third turn and pretty much check out UNTIL lap traffic comes up and i get MALAYED sending me all the way back to 5th:flaming: i managed to catch back up to third within 2 seconds but it was not looking like i could catch him in time but wouldnt ya know it the Losi that was leading DUMPED:lol: so i am now in the triple A mains for tomorrow. during the second qual the rear was getting loose so i switched to SS rebars in the back with soft holeshots in the front. Truck felt awesome in the main, super fast (thanx sourdiesel for the 4600!!) plenty of punch! the bad new is that Ryan Lutz is here and that dude is FAAAAAST his freakin SC laptimes are faster than 99% of pro E buggy!! only E buggy quicker is himself and an AE sponsered guy, the Rango is impressive!
so in the SC main there are 10 Losi's, 1 Rango and one SC10!

will chime in tomorrow night for the results!

Nice work! that's awesome!

I need advise....I just brought one with a Venom 4800kv and a cheap ar$e Hobbyking 60amp ecs running 13.28:1 (93/18) and it keeps thermal-ling with the motor really hot.

Today I must of not tightened the slipper up properly when I changed spurs and it just melted the pads and spur. So I need to get the Hi-torque pads and another spur.

I have a LRP 13.5T an TC Spec esc from my TC I'm thinking of putting in and would like to know what gear ratio should I be running with this setup?

I'm only bashing on a track in my mates backyard.

Cheers

Pinned, maybe 3 minutes into the first pack. Basket with 3 HT pads, nut was a few turns before flush. LRP TC V2/4.5 550 motor on the new 3.0 software.
I wonder if regular pads are the way to go?

That's the result of mine too. I use regular pads and have done that to two idlers. Bottom line is you need to get the metal ones, and metal diff. But: Try regular pads first obviously before you spend 60 bucks on gears.

I use the spacer mod with HD pads and all I can say is "bingo".

The Spacer and the Pin have nothing to do with each other.

I use the spacer so I don't have to use the basket and "I" have had good results with it. Almost everyone else will disagree and say i'm talking out my ass.

The pin is for performance out of the truck. The Spacer/Basket is so the truck even 'works'. :p

Thanks for the quick responses and good info. Looks like I will purchase some Hazard wheels. Any parts I should keep on hand or what are the first to need replacing? Concerning brands of tires, any preferences between AKA, Proline and JConcepts?

I mentioned a few pages back that I got extra idles, diff case, and a belt. Most people are having little issue with the rest of the truck. I did get the RPM Arms so I have spare stock arms. I was thinking about getting hub parts but I really have not seen anyone mention that they break.

Good luck today Mantis. I know you can represent us well!!!

After Mantis' experience I may have to get some rear hubs with toe. I love the STRC bling.

How many people have toasted an idler with a pinned slipper?

I pinned my but havent ran it yet. We got a race today and now im a bit worried lol

egilliland23 11-05-2011 07:15 AM

Who makes the metal diff and idler?

Evil Genius jr. 11-05-2011 07:31 AM

I noticed a lot of binding in my shocks but its not between the piston and body, its between the O-rings and the shaft. The car is brand new do the O-rings just have to get worn in? Or is there something wrong?
Thanks!

Mine seem OK but I rebuilt them completely and green slimed the o-rings. Some people are removing the upper ring or replacing the stock rings with round o-rings.
