Is that a different battery strap than stock? That is a totally different truck than the ones in the other pics I think?

Any pics of the rpm a arms on the truck?

Artikbot 10-14-2011 10:34 AM

Some drivers use sticks, some use saddles... I guess it's up to their driving style.

Seems like they use stock A arms though.

At least they have a limitless supply of straight arms to throw on after a half dozen races. :p

Mines haven't even warped a single bit... And I own the car since Aug 14th O_O

I'm heading to the track tonite. Gotta try out the "new and improved pinned slipper":p

I'm tying 45F/40r, Yellow fronts/ blue rears, rcshox 2 stage pistons V1,garolite pads, 22mm RH.

I'll report back.

Reporting back..... The pinned slipper is nice. Really tames the truck down on accel and braking. I had a lot more confidence that the truck would go where I wanted it to.

My lap times were a little faster and maybe a little more consistent. The truck was quite a bit easier to drive and I could throw it around a little more.

I did get the win, had to come back from 4th on the grid to get it though. Had my first dnf w/ the truck in the 2nd qual. Popped off the steering link at the spindle.

Ran down a guy runnning SLash fronts and no fenders on his body. Talk about trak width...jeez.....

I did notice a not so nice sound coming from the rear trans.

ANyone do the pin mod and notice a differnce in sound?

Truck is getting louder due to age, but this getting near LOSi territory.

I'm waiting for AE to come out with a spur gear that has taller pad walls so we end up running up to 2 pads per side without an extra basket/accessory and just have to add the in-between plates on a new shaft that is keyed its full length.

if you have taller pad walls, then how does pad 1 slip against pad 2? Wouldn't the taller wall just hold the two pads static?

ThunderbirdJunkie's truck had been through 3 sets of arms from the day he got it until you got your truck:lol:

Balboa, stop using the arms as a pulling exercise machine!

Yes, the taller wall holds the pads static, but you throw an extra slipper plate between them like the MTK clutch basket. In essence a built in clutch basket on both sides of the spur that you can add as many or few slipper pads/plates to as you want.

Funny that we are locking the front and rear together to make the truck work and Rango puts a middle diff in theirs.

Seems like Decoupled Slipper < Coupled Slipper < Oil filled Diff
