That evil team GT anyway (blatant nod to the great movie "Rad").

I get your point though.

no actually it was GT, i got the paperwork to prove it along with court records! GT may have released it in 92 but had it on their test bikes way before 92. i was on Factory JAD at the time.

I am running the clutch basket and i generally run the nut flush. When i lost the second idler gear i was actually running the nut backed off from flush. It doesnt sound like anyone else is having this issue, wonder why i am?

Your rear diff bearings might be worn out. That's what just took out my idler gear. (and I don't have the "pin" setup.)

Am I to assume it's the out drive bearings (not the top shaft and not the counter shaft)?

Ran Today:

Destroooooooooooyed and seized my entire rear end. Ho Boy...

Pulled out the slash and cried the rest of the day.

Yes, I was talking about the outdrive bearings.

Could just replace all the bearings... might be time. could solve the problem of blowing up the idler gear. I had to replace aboult half of the bearings on my truck so far.

No, not DESTRUCTION. But idler popped and that really sucks. Now i'm dead for three days.

EDIT: Btw, All my bearings are beautiful, and nothing's "wrong". Especially with the 3-4 others who reported it the day after this mod was big news, It just can't handle the modification "and" tightening the slipper like we're so used to. Mod, then adjust the slipper like we "thought" we'd be doing out of the box 6 months ago. Gotta get away from the mindset we have to bottom out this thing on the slipper for power. Not anymore with the Pinned mod imho. There are "whole teeth" still splined with my Top shaft. It just tore through the idler.

BUT! That pinned shaft mod is amazing idler explosion or not. 3s losi's, slashes... etc. I'm on their ass or holding them off with my 2S corners and all. I got through 4 packs before this happened though.

Bet it's the idle gear. Lost mine on first run with the pin mod, 4th run on truck total, slipper to tight. Replaced gear and set slipper properly with no other problems.

Here is a link to the second race with the truck and the first with it set up somewhat to race. I did not edit due to time and you will probably be able to guess what state I'm from as soon as you here my voice. :weird:

I know a guy that destroyed his idler gear without the mod

Also your belt settings are way too tight. And maybe try 2mm under front stud

Oh, Btw Pede, The belts at that because it's time for a new one. Making it last. Not there cause I want it there. Thank you for the tips. I'll be taking a look with these next weekend.
