Most setups have 1mm on the front. No where else. I'd run it with none and test it as this truck drives differently for 'everyone'. There is no "for sure" part of any setup on this truck. IMHO

Edit: Thank you T-bird. Set my mind at ease.

I have both the xerun 120A (the new one) and the xerun 150A (the big guy). I only began running the 120A w/ the tenshock 401 around on my street. I think that's about the limit for that ESC. If I was going to use a 550 and had to choose just one then I would certainly go w/ the 150A xerun. BTW, I have 2 RX8's just sent in and I've gone through 3 of them. So I've just made the switch to xerun.

I neec suggestions for esc that can handle 4.5 550 motor with ease for more than 1 or 2 packs. Looks like another 3 weeks with no racing or buy something else boo.

Jason runs the Novak Kinetic. He has raced the truck about every weekend since about two weeks before they were officially available to the public. Have used 7.5 540, 5.5 550 and 4.5 550 with no problems. He does always us a 60c 2s though.

1. I will never own another castle esc
2. the xerun 120am can easily handle a 550, or the new4pole 540 tekin.
3. with swaybars, im running 2mm under front ballstud
4. I am 100% sold on the pinned topshaft
5. I pray to god that AE will make a diff for this truck with steel inserts istead of the the copper.... PLEASE!
6. This truck Is and will continue to evolve, AE has to much money at stake with it. It wil be #1.
7. Has anyone used the STRC rear hubs that ad more toe in, if so, do they help add more grip during mid and exit turn/
8. Why am I starting each sentance with a number?
oh, and if your looking for new batteries, I highly suggest looking at High velocity battereies.
Ask Mantis, my tekin pro 4 had much more grunt with the HV batteries than his Pro 4 with gens ace. Contace Neu Racer or at least check out the High Velocity thread.

I almost sold the truck after this weekend, but decided not to give up on it yet. It is a major work in progress. Still trying to get the body roll under control. Also I have lost most off power steering, I would love to know how to do the pinned slipper thing, but dont have the time to sift thru 500 pages. On the electronics problems...mine has been flawless. I am running an rs pro, with a 550 4.5 scrx tekin system. I did ad a huge cap to the esc, and seems to run quite fine.

Non basket garodisc users, what are you using as a starting point for slipper tension? 3.5mm as stock, or something tighter/looser?

I searched back to the introduction of the product and my eyes are getting too heavy to continue going through posts.

So it looks like i'll be eating my words about those damn Gen ace batteries and trying a handful. I'll use my T/P Batteries for race only.
FWIW, ThunderbirdJunkie's Gens Ace 5000/40C only takes 2200mah now...it was run for about a month in the SC10 4wheeler with a 1410/RX8 until converting it to saddle packs.

YMMV

I hate that. It's such a mixed bag with them. I work at a hobby shop and they 'still' aren't that cheap. Hear great stories, then horror stories. I seem to be one of the kind who usually has bad luck.

blah.

When Jason did not run the Basket clutch he used the FT friction disks and the V2 Slipper spring from a B44.1. 4mm would be a good starting point. You will find the B44.1 spring will not collapse like the one in the kit.
