Not frustrating in the sense I couldn't figure it out, but more of "Why did they do it like this."
Overall I think it's ok, but doing any work on the truck in between quals is going to be a bitch. Coming from a Hyper10, Jammin SCRT and the SCTe which are all simple designs the SC10 4wd is not user friendly.

SaladFork,
Are you gonna post a vid?! I take most opinions on here with a grain of salt but you are a good ambassador for this hobby. Kudos thus far. I'm not brand loyal cuz I simply enjoy anything with wheels. I'm waiting things out before I make a 4x4 sct purchase and depend on reviews from people that are like-minded. Thanks in advance

drove a friends sc10 4x4 today like it so much i bought one.turns great and jumps great. its very smooth and fast cant wait to put mine together in a few mins. I have owned pretty much all of the 4x4 and my top three would be scrt10,sc10 4x4 ,losi scte( over heated and never got to try with a 1410 motor)

I will do a better overall review after I run it. I will say thank you to AE for releasing a kit, it was fun to build if you are into that. Sitting on the table the truck looks awesome. My wife said "That thing looks stout."

We do plan on doing some vids... I actually recorded the entire build, 40 gigs worth of HD video. So I will be working on that shortly. I have a few other things to do before I can get the ESC installed.

I am at the point right now. Looking at my rear cvd's. I got the hex to click in but it still only captures about half of the pin. Would have like a little more assurance. Other than that is a really fun build IMO. I dont think its going to be too bad to work on. Seem like you can take the whole front or rear clip off with just a few screws.

i think some people need to understand that when you put a motor in with low turns, you really gotta check everything. one loose nut or one oops did i use lock tite on that set screw is all you need to destroy a lot. Ive been doing this for years, and if you dont keep a close eye on everything you will fail. doesnt matter who makes it. Im sure if we go to the losi thread you hear a bunch of crap there too. and a lot of it can be operator error.
ive raced them all, and have busted stuff on every one. most i can blame on myself.

A ghetto fix for the cvd pins which I did for my FTSC10 is to put shrink wrap tubing around the pin, I also use tire glue to make sure that ring doesn't spin around allowing that pin to fling out. Try it out.

Wanted to give you guys some feedback from my 1st night of racing this truck. I run on a large 1/8th scale track with ok traction but not blue groove by any means. I started with 35w front 30w rear on the shocks for the big jumps. 5k rear and 15k front for the long sweeping turns to make it not turn under too sharp. I am running the 13t pinion with a 4.5 550 Ballistic and the hottest it came off of the track was 130 after 10 minutes of running hard.
The 1st thing I noticed was the need for sway bars but since I don't have them I needed to figure out how to deal with the picking up of the front inside tire and washing out the rear. I moved the bottom of the rear shock to the outer position and the top of the rear shock to the inner giving more resistance. This cured about 90 percent of the problem. I will still get sway bars when they come out, but it is very race able now.
The A-main was made up of a mix of all brands of 4x4's. I finished 2nd in a 1 2 3 finish of all AE 4x4 trucks. The only thing that the Losi's had on us last night was the extra weight. There was some big wind gusts and the Losi's did not blow over as easy. I had to go for the double single instead of the triple. I did crash hard doing the triple in practice and nothing broke. I had a great night racing my baseline set up, and will continue to tweak it as time goes.
The guy that finished 3rd with his AE was running a TP 7.5 540 and came off the track after the 6 minute main at 220 degrees (ouch).
I am going to play with adding some weight on a windy day to see what happens. Also I will get the Flotek body to see how it helps. I was running my SC10 2wd body last night.

i read a lot of replies about the 1415 not fitting and a few where it fit by loosing up the chassis bolts and it slides right in. Any success on this, and if so have you ran it yet and is it easy to tune or is it just a bat out of hell with all that motor? Any info would be nice.

so it looks like I'll be double checking the shocks before filling them.
and making sure the wheels 'click' into the hexes right
other than that seems like the truck is rock solid.
I'm sure quality control suffered by the amount of units they had to produce and get out the door.
just about every truck/car etc has its issues.
too bad we can't mfr them here in the USA.
