I did once... it ruins the inside pad. Black grease all over it.

I just rebuilt both diffs and I noticed that the thrust bearing was dry so I thought I would ask :D

I have done it, and works just fine for me. The key is to use a very minimal amount. I dab a dot on my finger and rub it up against the thrust bearing balls. Its like a thin film rubbed equally throughout the bearing, so that there is no clunky chunks of grease hanging around. Have been on the same thrust bearing for almost 2 years now. Think the manual even says to use a small amount on it. I just use a minimal amount so no excess grease gets flung around. Keeps it smooth and quiet imo.
On the other hand, i don't think its absolutely necessary, as that thrust bearing should last a while regardless.

That's what I was thinking, just a small dab just to coat it.

would anyone have the part number for the .5 mm diff shim that fixes the diff problems?

banditstpk 07-28-2013 07:18 PM

my truck has a steering problem. it runs straight as soon as i start it up but as i run it i have to gradually keep adjusting the steering trim until its almost all the way to the left,as im running for a good 15 min. i am confused as to why this is happening. i was told to check the servo horn because it could be stripped, i replaced that and it didnt look stripped. well my truck is still having that same issue.

Are the screws going through the top piece into the servo block really tight? Can you see that the servo block has moved from where you last set it?

I'm using 62/13 and my esc I think it is set on level 5 (monster mode)

I love my Hobbywing SCT Pro combo, best esc/motor combo I've used to date.

Got to run 10k diff fluid upfront and 5k in the rear and the truck felt good. Finally able to stay on the power in the turns. I'm also able to work on my jumping and landing technique, now that the truck feels pretty good for this newby around a corner.

Question about the diffs, I managed to damage the o-ring on one of the outdrives. The little tiny basterd o-ring, does AE sell just a o-ring/rebuild kit that doesn't come with the gears? I cant see spending 15 bucks for a rebuild kit that comes with gears and all the shims, when they are still in good condition.

You got the right servo horn , switch servo's to check if your old servo is defected ...
