Yes , start with a locked clicker & no overdrive ..
If you desire more steering the clicker can be loosen & overdrive added....

Hi, I am about to buy a new motor as the stock RTR Reedy motor is burnt out. I have chosen the Hobbywing Xerun 3672SD motor. But will the rear chassis plate have to modified for the motor to fit. If so, how will i need to modify it.

Sorry if the pictures are blurred

Janga, I got the Castle 2400kv in my SC10 4x4 and I had to do some shaving on the inner edge of the rear chassis piece right where the motors back end hits on the inside.
Take a dremmel to it where the back of the motor hits, shaving a little bit at a time. Shave a little and then check by placing the motor in its spot until it fits with no problem.
This operation does not mess with the structural integrity of the rear chassis piece. I did this and have had no issues. Also it is not alot that gets shaved.

+ YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.
Figured i'd post a video of my race from over the weekend. It was our "track championship".

I'm the one talking to the cameraman (howard) before the start of the race. You can hear me saying my truck is WAYYYY down on power from the norm. Off throttle, in air, the truck wanted to nose dive like i've never seen before.

I started in 4th due to speedo issues in the quals. Before this main the speedo I was borrowing at the time kept novaking.

Not exactly the finish I wanted, nor did I drive clean at all. But anyway, heres the vid....

I have the FT, so use Kimwald's setup.

Also, could the apparrent center fluid filled diff be adapted to the SC10 4x4 :)

Pick a set-up that fits your track conditions best.
BK works great on clay. I even use some of it (8mm camber mod & ballast) ..

Where are you running or racing your truck ?

MunchMunch 12-20-2012 09:33 AM

Looking at the EDAM buggy above, I think someone likes the SC104x4 - the design similarities are very obvious.

Cain 12-20-2012 10:09 AM

lol. SC10 4x4 V2? Be curious how well a fluid filled center diff setup like this would work. Even more so, how much crow to have on the menu for those who said its not needed if it performs better with it or AE makes such an item.

I had my steering ball links popping off while racing at my small indoor track. I installed the Du-bro 3mm monster ball links and that took care of the problem. Granted they changed the layout since I last had been there and it was much more of an "open" layout. But not a problem all day. Here is the link to what I bought....

Interesting. The description says nothing about what thread size is accepted by the body, but I assume the associated rods screw on tightly?

By the way, they would be totally bullet proof if you put a washer under the head of the socket screw. That way if they did get a hit hard enough to pop them the washer would retain them from coming all the way off. This would at least allow you to finish a race, although alignment might be off.
