the truck is so much easier/faster to drive with the exotek though, so it doesn't matter how much i could flip it around in the air before. useless when it was way too reactive with not enough traction everywhere else on the track.

Agreed.

My truck felt a bit nose heavy in the air but I think that is due to the amount of drag brake I have dialed in. I dropped it from 10% to 5% and it was nice and balanced (granted we have a short course...100x40 and no huge gaps etc).

belt clickin

hey folks. my truck started making a clickin sound today when i was at the track. it sounds like the belt slipping under acceration. i got the belt tensior tight, but its still making a clickin sound.... any heads up on what to look for????

Rear diff is probably shot.

Is it a constant click or just when under acceleration?

It is most likely your rear diff or the rear idler gear. Take the rear tranny apart and check the diff and idler.

hey i only raced the truck twice. i got it as a rtr.... it just under acceraltion. my track is tacky " it sounds liek a old slipper clutch just with a click sound. i got both tensioser all the way tight..

I would say start by checking your rear diff out. Also, do you run your belt tunnel with all the pieces?

budget racer40 02-05-2012 05:41 PM

yes. everything is complete box stock.

Ok. well, check your diffs then, start with the rear and let us know what you find.

Trust me when I say the guys in the Houston area are spoiled with this covered off-road track. It is amazing and fun as ;)

We are very spoiled to have such a great facility. Even though its a 30-45min drive for me, i will drive there for a set of tires or whatever, just to support the hobby shop. Its a blessing.

Even if you are faster everywhere else, if somebody following you can go triple and you can only go single double, your odds go way up of getting wrecked in a bad spot.

ICRC, you posted you added weight to the front of the truck in an attempt to help it. Out of curiosity, where exactly did you mount it, and how much did you try?
