it seemed better temp wise with the 15t on it.

+100!!! with 2x the poles on the rotor there is half the distance between poles...timing gets all messed up and you can actually hurt performance AND your motor.

Only use timing on 2-pole motors! Until an ESC comes out that is designed specifically to be able to handle timing advance for 4-pole or 6-pole motors....

I wouldnt go that far I run for Hobbywing and have been doing some testing for them with boost timing with the new 3656 4000kv 4 pole using a xerun 120 amp. I started with no timing and it could have used a bit more top end for our track. So I put about 12 degrees of boost timing in it and wow does it ever haul now temps are about 125 after a 6 min race esc is 120 as well. smooth as can be and the motor seems to take well to timing. Now this may be different with different motors from different companies? But from my findings with this motor combo it works beauty.

I have been boosting my Pro4 4k for over a year now with no issues and on many different ESC's. IMO when they tell you not to use timing its static timing that can cause issues, if you ramp timing up higher in the power band you are fine.

How much boost are you adding with your BH esc? I ran it in blinky mode with my 4pole 4k and it seemed to lack the power when I had it with my rx8....

The BH is very close to the hw I run I use about 12 degrees of boost timing with my hw 4 pole 4000kv, and down the stright I will pull my buddys rx8 pro-4 4600 with no timing. I start the boost timing at 8000 rpm and it will ramp up as you apply the throttle this works beauty.

Thanks I'll try that, I am currently running the BH esc with HW 4000kv 4pole...... So as soon as the track in my area opens back up I'll test it out with diff. boost settings starting with yours......

you are not running a sensored motor. Your esc if fine but the motor is hot. You tried to go down pinions and up on pinions. I would still drop the timing.

Ya the hw can take a gear or 2 higher then the same 4 pole tekin as the rotor is massive. Mine stright out hauls now, I run mine in a desc410r but very simmilar.
Try those settings and see how you like it, I belive my acc is set to 350 as well.

i know that my motor is not sensored. i thought they were talking about boost timing and im pretty sure the instructions say you can only do that with a sensored motor. thats what i was talking about last.

i still plan on dropping the timing.
