Sick of the complaining more than the new guys asking good questions
about the truck...;)

What is your setup?

It seems the 8mm mod is best used if you are running firmer rear springs (a lot of us are running very stiff in the rear compared to the blue-blue or yellow-yellow that the manuals suggest). Once you go that stiff with the springs you need to gain back some of the rear traction you lost.

If you are pushing then you have something wrong in your setup, while my truck might push a bit on corner exit it never does on entry.

I've got so much going on right now I have to get some good track time to figure it out. Unfortunately that's time I just don't have. I've got a v2 Cdiff and 2 stage pistons from RCshox. I've also got the +3 jconcept wheels. I basically added all 3 at once, so now I've got to re-think my whole setup. I've got yellow springs all around, 35/30 (from what I hear, I should be much lighter with the 2 stage pistons, but it's all I had in my box at the time), yellow bar up front, blue bar in the rear, and most everything else set to factory settings.

The push is really only on-power. My biggest concern is getting the car to "rotate" around the turns. I feel like I can't get it to break loose when I want it to.

I overheard a guy that knows a guy that read on here about pinning a top shaft. Can someone explain that? And if it's done to the top shaft then does it have to be done the bottom shaft too?

And is better to use the Losi springs or the Kyosho springs? Oh wait wrong thread. B4.1 and B44 thread. Let me resurrect that question on there!
:D:p

What stiffer springs are you talking about? Yellow is the stiffest up front and only red is stiffer in the rear? Or is there aftermarket springs.

half the problem with people asking the same question over and over again is how this forum is set up. yes the search button works but it brings up so many topics you have to have time to go through the pages.

just my 2 cents. ill search but if i can not find an answer ill ask.

so back to the exotek slipper...how much steering does it take away ? i ask because not all drive the same, what may under-steer for you may be to loose fore me.

So I am thinking about replacing my reedy 7.5 in my truck. I was looking at the 550 4 poles, but there seems to be a fair amount of pack puffing. The revtech and tekin 4 pole 540's seem ok, but have heat issues, So I am kinda looking at the 550 2 poles. Mainly the reedy sonics. Speed is not a priority, I don't race on a large track and I will rarely be able to open it up. The 540 reedy just lacks the bottom end out of the corners. I know that reedy is releasing a high torque rotor for the sonic 540's, but it is not out and have no idea how well it will work.

I run rc8.2 spring front and rear on my truck.

Alot of users are putting either blue front or white fronts in the rear which is stiffer then any of the rear springs........

ok, I heard mention of front springs in the rear somewhere. Do I need anything special? or are they tall enough. Might put my front blue springs to use tomorrow.

Tech question:

If I paint my truck pink and get lucky enough to qualify in the same main as Brian Kinwald, will people think less of me when I go two laps down, or crash BK while he's lapping me from the lead?

Or do I just need to practice more?

Wild Cherry 07-07-2012 09:05 PM

[QUOTE=CraigMBA;10948238]Tech question:

Yes, a lot more practice if you ever hope to make the show ....:)
