Anyone tried Chris Jarosz Setup with 60k diff in the front and 5k in the rear? Feedback please...
Looking for a setup for Outdoor Dirt track (HotRod Hobbies at Saugus, CA).
Almost done with the build.
Just waiting on the RX8 and SC4x 4.5 to arrive :tire:

Interesting, belt tension backed all the way off front and rear on that setup.

What type of track? Clay or Dirt?
Does it matter which track to use the thicker front diff oil?

Debating if I should start with 30k or go with 60k already...

Dirt, outdoors and 1/8 style, also 2mm sway bars front and rear, but it works for me.---Jerry

wow, what an easy build, aside from the servo aspect. took me about 5 hrs last night including cleaning and oilin the bearings as well as rebuilding the shocks and cutting out the body.
this afternoon i finished the electronics install and took it for a spin in the kitchen and wow, it has a pyle of traction!

just wanna say thanks for the great guide and excellent tips throughout the thread.
does anyone know if the lrp tc spec sphere is 550 safe?

thanks
anthony

I've been noticing that on some of the team setups too. I was at the track the other day and my temps after 10-15 minutes of practice were getting really high, 137 esc and almost 200 on the motor. I'm running an LRP tc spec v1 with an LRP x12 540 5.5 turn. I went down from the 19t pinion to a 14t but my temps were a little lower but not by much. I had the tensioners 5 front 3 rear. Maybe backing them both off to the top position might ease the load on the motor

Run 19overdrive in front and it will help drive better and ease the load. Go to a 13 pinion or turn your timing all the way down. I'm running a 9.5 speed passion 540 and after 10-15 min I'm at 140-150 on the motor with a 15 and 110 with a 13

Thanks - I have the 60k diff already - I will try it out and see how it goes.
Will be running on a dirt track as well.
