Driving it on a track for the first time kinda ticked me off. It's quiet, smooth, flies great, but there are corners on every off road track that I know of. This thing (even with the "no bars" set up posted this week) goes around a corner much like a fishing boat caught in a gale.

Come on Asc., Throw those that bought these early kits a bone and make a way to provide us with what should be part of the kit AND please start supplying them WITH the kits.

Being probably THE nicest, easiest to build and a wonder of engineering...You dropped the ball big time with the sways.

Let us know how this works out for ya??
I know I'm not going to hold my breath....

Looks like its for the purpose to show the change in wheelbase...like a before and after picture. Just look at the tires in relation to the 'silver' line.

still have to glue tires but I think I may do that early tomm mrng.

Must be nice. I got my kit last Saturday and started building it. Almost done and noticed the entire rear bumper bag was missing. Called AE on Monday and after they gave me the run around they finally agreed to send it to me. Now, one week later, I still don't have it. It's been very frustrating dealing with them!

with longer wheel base should make it more stable and take away some steering.

Did you talk to Chris from AE? I'm not sure if hes still overseas, but I was missing a part from my kit as well... I contacted Chris and he sent it out to me asap (I got it in a few days but I live in socal as well lol)

wow i just got finished and fired it up. I'm running a CC 3800 (4 pole) with 19/93 gearing.

Just putting it around the house was insane, this thing seems ANGRY!

I love it!! Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooottt!!

Can't wait for tires to dry and to take it on the dirt tomorrow. :tire:

Just got word from DE Racing that they have the SC10 4x4 wheel done. I should see mine middle of next week and will post some pictures. Should be the same wheel design just special for the AE 4w.

4X4 ?

Im currently running a Viper VX10 speedo and LRP X-12 8.5T and when I mash the throttle or even get on it hard the truck stutters and dosent want to go. It makes a clicking noise so i thought it was the belt slipping but I have checked the belt and everything else in the drivetrain and cant seem to find it? Any clues to what would be causing this? Thanks!

your wires might be soldered wrong.are they A to A,B to B,C to C?that could be the problem.also make sure the sensor wire is completely plugged in both the motor and speedo.

racer1812 05-27-2011 11:48 PM

What is DE doing different on the AE 4x4 wheel than on the Losi wheel which is said to fit??

Will you be coming to the Asylum today with it? I will be there with my truck seeing how it does on that track.

I talked to a guy named Don at AE. I always heard that AE has great CS, but this experience left me for a loss. I couldn't beleive the run around I got. Not even an " I'm sorry" or "we'll get this taken care of". I tried calling him again today, no luck!!

Looking for a setup for Outdoor Dirt track (HotRod Hobbies at Saugus, CA).
Almost done with the build.
Just waiting on the RX8 and SC4x 4.5 to arrive :tire:

I run at hot rod too and initially ran with 5k up front and 30 wt in front shocks. Truck was nice but wanted to spin the ass end around in the sweeper off the straight. Came back next week with 50k diff/35 wt front shocks and truck was way easier to drive harder. Make no mistake though, it had a lot to do with driving adjustments as well. You don't need to brake at the end of the straight, in fact you can't without spinning out. Just let off the throttle, the truck can carry quite a bit of speed into the sweeper. Good luck!

Realized tonight I mixed up the screws in the front diff case swapping out the busted servo saver. Long screw was machining the back of the front pulley away. That explains the extra heat (only 120 on it's maiden voyage vs yesterday's 150), and a little drag I noticed. Oops. But that means next time, she'll be even better! :sneaky:
