Took the advice of a few peeps on this thread, and ordered the RCShox diff and STRC belt pulley. My question is where are you guys getting those niffty chassis braces?

We swapped out the steering rack because it is very touchy and way too responsive, and touchy so with a new ackermann arm it slows the steering down and makes the truck easier to drive.

the new FT ackermann bar has an extra rearward hole. using this rearward hole quickens initial steering response, and the car reacts faster to steering input.

So I can not see how the new ackerman bar is slowing down your steering

This is a long thread, so I'm sure this has been asked before....

I need an SC truck that uses the SC10 Wheel offset, reason being I'm waiting on the Caster SC 4x4 a bit later this year so I am in need of a truck to last til then, SC4x4 is rather popular here.

I really like the original SC10 4x4 because it has the stick pack configuration, I will be running a Castle SV2 style controller and a 1410 motor.

I heard the steering rack is weak on the orginal truck and hear saddle packs are better, is it that much of a difference?

The FT truck and the OG kit come w/ stick pack parts, the Ft has the saddle parts as well, from what I've heard.

No problems w/ the stock steering rack, I've been beating on mine for over a year up at Fastlane and other places and haven't broke a single part.

The saddle packs, IMO, arent' really necessary. I've got 5oz., about the same weight the exotek chasiss weighs, on the rx/esc side of the truck, balances it side/side perfectly....

You don't want quicker.

Alot of us made our own. you can buy the new FT chassis brace and mounting hardware. if you get the new one, your gonna want to get the updated rear shock tower. Heres the older version for comparison.

If anyone wants a set of new rtr sc10 4x4 tires and wheels I just listed the set off of my truck. They have five minutes on them and still look new:

How much weight did you add you your Sc10 4x4 ? I added 6oz it now puts the truck race ready @ 6lbs 3oz.

For whoever was asking about Ackerman positions.

forward hole=least amount of Ackerman. Ackerman increases as you move the ball stud rearward.

More
(Bigger difference in steering angle between the two font wheels) More Ackermann makes the steering more consistent, and smoother.
It just feels right, also at low speeds and in tight turns.

Less
(Smaller, or no difference in steering angle between the two font wheels) Less Ackermann makes the steering more agressive at high speeds.
The car turns in more agressively.
It doesn't work well when either traction or cornering speeds are low.

I have yet to see one. The only makes I have seen have been the silverado flo tek, the ford raptor or the 77 ford ranger.
