For the spindle I decided to use some 3/8" 6061 aluminum rod I had. I turned down one side to fit the 5x10 bearing, drilled and tapped both ends.
http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps01c6e1c0.jpg Starting on the spindle. http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps8b24f942.jpg Finished spindle and idler gear. |
The clear motor plate allowed me to check alignment of everything. Once everything looks good, I will use the clear plate as a template to transfer the mods to the aluminum plate.
http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps4892089c.jpg lining up the idler gear and spindle. I found a 18T idler allowed me to use the upper motor mount hole for mounting. http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps2ae1e87a.jpg Spindle allows plenty of room for the belt. http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps7a5059cc.jpg Everything installed, once I verify the alignment I will use the clear plate to transfer mods to the actual aluminum motor plate. I need to add another slot for the 2nd motor screw. |

I will pay whatever you want to charge plus an arm and a leg, but really only a leg. I need two arms too drive like a pro. I could stand on one leg with no problem.

More pictures of the 4 gear mod.
http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps09d64c4a.jpg Added a third slot to hold my Tekin Pro4 motor. Used the clear template to get it lined up. http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...psf0b9f5c4.jpg Spindle installed on the aluminum motor plate. http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...psfd5b69c9.jpg Spindle held by a 3mm flat head set in a countersunk hole to ensure it does not move. |

Hey guys, are there any recent mods that are must have? I had to put my sc10 4x4 down for over a year now and Im looking to get back in it. The last I knew was Mantis' 2 stage shocks and cdiff which I have V1. I also have saddle packs and the center brace. Once i get up and going again I'll got to the new version of the cdiff, V2 or V3 if its out.

First stab at the V3 Mod1 48t spur gear! THIS IS JUST A PROTOTYPE!!!
The outside ring is a dust shield for the balls, it will not completely seal off but will help in keeping dust out. Also note that there is no center bearing on this particular one , i still need to do some testing, its a long drawn out process but the end result will be nice! http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps80b48ee2.jpg |
Anyone have a good starting point for the M2C pistons for hard packed, smoothish clay?

The latest hot thing to do if your tractk conditions warrant is to go with an ultra lite setup with a shorty lipo up front. Shark would be a good person to look at his mods to see what is all involved.
