4600kv is pretty high for an indoor track. I'm running the Tenshock 4400kv geared low*(62/12) on a 1/8 scale outdoor track. A motor in the 3800-4200 range would maximize your gearing options. And clay compound Ions work well on high-bite clay. Good luck.

Couple of servo ?'s

What's the recommend min. speed and torque?

Had the AE 1015 thinking about the Savox SC-1256TG, will I feel the difference in speed, will it possibly be a down grade?

I would suggest close to 200oz torque, and .15 or faster transit time.

I used JR9100S and really enjoyed it on the vehicle from what I recall.

I cant keep belt on the front pully. does it mater if I am running the cover over the pully. Maybe my belt is streched or tension pullys are worn out.

Belt stretch is rare but possible. More likely front to rear chassis flex allowing for slack in the belt. Check your chassis brace and all the screws that hold the front and rear sections on. If you don't have a chassis brace, get one.

Agreed on the 4600. I have only run this truck on outdoor dirt and pavement tracks so I will definitely be taking my 3800 along to see which does best for me in practice. Thanks for the confirmation on the Ions. Should be a good laugh for the locals ... me racing indoor clay for the first time!

Did this just start happening or has it been from the get go? If it just started how long have you been running, what condition is the pulley and belt and what are your tensioners set at?

Does anyone else make ball cups for the sc104x4?
Mine are starting to get a little bit of play in them.

for the belt falling off the pulley issue, from what I recall one cause was if you assembled the pulley wrong. Look at the manual again and confirm you have it assembled correctly as I believe you can assemble it wrong and the belt can eventually slide off.

Yes, it does matter if you are running without the front cover. I had the same problem when I tried to run without the cover, and found that the plastic pulley mount can flex too much without the cover on. One of the mods on this thread shows a front pulley mount fashioned out of carbon fiber.

Nice find, did you see a price? I couldn't find one on that page. I am looking for a motor and was considering the HW 4000kv till you posted that one =)

Cain 11-21-2013 12:17 PM

tower has them listed, here is one:

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXEAEP&P=7

initial price of $173.99 . I am assuming it will go down to about the same price as a Tekin 4 pole, maybe $10 more but not sure.

WaftyCrank 11-21-2013 12:41 PM

Thanks Cain.

Cain 11-21-2013 02:40 PM

no prob. If you get it let us know how it goes. It looks to be ROAR legal so thats a plus if you are required to have that as the Hobbywing one I don't think is.
