If I remember correctly Mantis specifically said not to use black grease on the center diff. Use clear silicone grease like AE stealth diff lube.

Just had to post this again to make it an even #5 times posted to NOT USE BLACK GREASE in the center diff.

The AE white diff grease has some "grit" to it to keep the diff from slipping. The black grease is used for gears and thrust washers. It is a regular type grease. Black grease on the diff will make the balls slip on the diff plates. Be sure not to get any on the diff plates against the slipper plate. It is possible for the plates to slip on the slipper plates if they have grease on them.

If you want to get real crafty you can pin the slipper plates and notch the diff rings to stop any possible plate slipping from happening.

Got the new Hitec 7955TG in, funny I had some kind of binding in the tranny so I backed off the tranny bolts just a hair, now she is smooth and free, free power! LOL

I wish there was a track open close by.

I'm selling a brand new mamba max pro and a 1 month old Savox 1256TG if anyone is interested. just pm me.

I just matched up a roll pin (not a solid one) in my RC junk with a drill bit I had. I used a small cut off wheel just about worn down to a dime size to notch the diff ring on the inside. Placed it all back on the trans shaft to center it and mark where the the notch is on the slipper plate. Slowly drill a small hole for the roll pin. Cut off the extra pin and that is pretty much it.

Just take your time. It is easy to do it once slow then fast twice.

I remember. You have missed out on a few really killer layouts at West Coast. Welcome back!

Just wanted to make sure I have the belt on right I built the FT to specs, and everything turned smooth, put the belt on then I locked down the clicker like it recommend till you learn how to drive truck. I have not got my tires in to roll it on ground. But manually I can't make cvds spin

So who's running the +3mm wheels vs the stock width ones?

I ordered a set of each to see how stability the +3's add.

Okay, so after working non stop for 3 months I finally had time to take out my truck. Prior to this, I ran the clutch basket. The difference is that the center diff makes the ride a lot smoother and easier to control. But the take off is not as strong as the clutch basket. I did put some black grease on the diff balls. Is that okay? The nut is all the way down to be as tight as posssible.

Im running 60/14 and my temps ranged from 160 to 180 after about 7 mins.

Im guess that's why the center diff has an updated version coming out?? Waiting on that...

Any tips??? Thanks

DO NOT USE BLACK GREASE, YOU MUST USE BALL DIF GREASE!
