man i have popped a bunch but mostly thats my fault. my stock veh i havent been havin the issue as much but i def ran into the same thing with the back ones folding/shearing after time.I just built my mod and have made a few mistakes in itside note-i saw a guy running the round grey losi ballcups on his b4.1 this weekend. I dont think the stock ball cups are too weak as i have snapped some ballstuds in half and i would rather pop a ballcup then replace u braces or whatever the snapped ballstud is in, i havent had any pop off un warranted so ill just try and clean up my mod driving..

thnk you.. i think i see your point here..the threads run at a angle and the reverse threads would be angled the opposite way . dont have em in my hand right now but i can imagine if i dont mind the threads direction the ones that i make a mistake will be "cross threaded" and and can strip out easier or cause more binding wich was the initial issue with the ball cups..ill do too differnt batches and keep the reverse threads pre drilled by reverse side of the turnbuckle.. maybe the mirror image is confusing me ahahah

The stock ball cups are NOT weak. every time I try shaving my rear c plate & let my 8yr old run it he breaks the c plate. he even broke one that I didnt shave! so, no, I see no problem with weak stock ball cups, as a matter of fact I would MUCH rather have had 4 ball cups pop than to have gone through 4 c plates for my son!

Just finished anodizing my turnbuckles gold

If anyone wants to know the process, I can write it out or make a video on my next batch. Many colors are possible. Purple, green, red, blue gold...

Now I just have to drive fast

I used metal polish and put the turnbuckle in a dremel and cleaned off all the original blue, then used 12 9v batteries and dr pepper. + wire goes to turnbuckle and negative sits in the dr pepper.

7 9v works okay, but it's not a real gold look. at 108v the gold really comes out bright like in the picture I posted.

Ok, I'm rediculously intrigued. You polish the blue off, dip the aluminum part in a can of DP, apply current & you end up w/ gold parts! That is awesome! I would love details &/or a video.

+1 Thats just asking to be stripped or yanked out. But if you are very careful and dont mix them up, then it will be fine. Although, I've never had a problem with the good ole fashoned way of threading ball cups. I replace every so often whether they need it or not. Especially the rear passenger outer cup. I replace it after every 2 times I pop it off to adjust my diff.
