I cant say. I have not ran the Kyosho springs.
Losi Lower cups TLR5095.
Losi Lower cups TLR5095.
I ran the purple/red Avid springs at EN Hobbies for a practice last Sunday and I like that. The track had just been watered and I was one of two people running at the time though. Red/yellow is where I have stayed for the most part though.
We haven't had a chance to post these up on the AVID site since David is at AMS3.0, but my friend Arno posted a couple setups on Petit RC for low grip tracks (my SDRC Top Gun Race setup and JP Richards CRCRC Setup)

What did you end up running for a fast lap down there?

Losi 22 bottom shock retainers work way better then the traxxas. The Traxxas lower does not fit properly they ride above the eyelet piece. 22 Lower and traxxas upper is what I run. I dont like the traxxas upper either because they slide around when you are adjusting the spring. I am going to switch to the avid collar.
Yes definitely the Losi spring cups work better, and look nicer too... And Im running the Ghea collars. So nice making adjustments with the Ghea's. Just a little pricey but they are well worth it for sure.

Had a friend who is sponsored B-group driver using these for awhile. He really liked them alot, but ended up having to go back to AE shocks when AE got wind he was using them. I'm sitting back and waiting for an official release from AE. I havent really had any problem with the stock shocks or springs. Only modification was to put in the low friction clear Kyosho o-rings, smoothest the shocks have ever been. I have seen the AE prototypes at OC/RC when Steve Hartson is testing them, and they look really nice, very much like Kyosho shocks, but hopefully not nearly as expensive.
