Does the old style white spacer hold the oil well too? Is it thick enough for that?

O rings hold oil... the spacer supports the shaft.

Does the +8MM chassis benefit UK drivers who race on Astroturf? Or is it better purely for the clay drivers?

IIRC it's nylon and doesn't really support the shaft as the OD is too small, it's just a spacer for the O rings.

I'd say better all around. If you're the the only one at a track running 8mm because the others haven't caught on, you're likely to have the competitive edge

This may have been covered, but I see alot of people waiting on losi spring cups. For those thar don't want to wait use rpm #73152. They work as well, just not quite as fancy as losi cups, but no modification needed as far as gluing cups.

So.. what supports the shaft then?

Does the hard metal shock body support the shaft?

The piston and the spacer combined keep the shock shaft "centered" and safe from metal contact (except in extreme conditions).

Yes, the spacer ID is larger than the OD of the shock shaft... it has to be for proper shock action (the same reason the piston isnt tight in the body bore). While the spacer DOES space out the o rings... it is NOT its primary purpose.

I was told to just get the cheaper avid ones and replace as needed.

Default Shock Oil Comparison

Can anyone give me a number value for how much thicker losi is compared to associated? I saw a chart from 2005 and read a conversation where people said losi is about 2.5wt thicker than ae. Is this pretty accurate still?
