Well, Maifield just won the Az State Championships in mod buggy. Started on the pole and got clipped and spun back to sixth spot. Just marched his way back to the front through kinwald, wheeler, denney, fischer. Made it look easy but very dramatic. Go AE!

Default Rib tires or treaded?

I currently run the 4 groove rib tires on my B4.1 on outdoor clay track. I have never tried a threaded knob type tire like the ones on the rears. Does anyone have experience with using other tires besides the rib ones up front?
The track I run at is in Florida and gets real dry and dusty.

Also, has anyone tried to run a wider wheel and tire up front, and if so, what brand of wheel did you use?

My car pushes a lot on corners which makes the front slide out. I know this is common on 2WD buggies but I would like input on how to reduce this.

Rick

Just to throw my .02 in the ring. Viper VST 17.5 won ROAR Stock 2wd class in a B4.1. Won J Concepts NE Champs as well.

One of our team drivers TQ'd 17.5, then put esc in boost mode an qualified 6th in modified with the same 17.5 motor at a trophy race in CT this weekend.

BTW - Team Associated clocked 'me all at the NE Grand Prix this weekend. I think 1st through 5th or 6th was all B4.1's.

Enough said, sure it is a ton of driver skill but that is the reason AE does not need to come out with a new car anytime soon

Has anyone tryed big bores on there B4.1 yet....worth the effort and expense?

im running +9mm Vassa Cav setup in Mod if it helps

Im thinking Durango's or the new Yokomo's would be nice...even the Team C's

TC1..thanks...thats the sort of feedback i was looking for
I too,am a little afraid of the big bores feeling numb..even outdoor

Looks like im picking up a new set of team C's......any experience with them anyone?

Cheers
Anyone else had any B4.1 bigbore experience's to add??

Im just looking for a better shock setup for my track..i noticed the big bore equipped cars(22,DEX210) can get away with jump mistakes more than i can..

We have a crossover landing, that if not nailed on the ramp, unsettles me through the following little woop section...the big bore guys can just jump to flat no worries and blast away..

Same, with clipping the tops of downramp lips in our rythmn section...there rears tend to just soak it up,im grabbing full throttle to stop the front flip...

My car handles fine everywhere else..im just thinking that the big shocks are handling the highspeed, sharp full travel blows a LOT better....

Heres a Vid of our track....you can see the crossover...the big bores can gain a few good metres there easily
The rythmn section is also different, having 3 sets of doubles, camels in it..

We are using either Traxxas or Rpm spring cups , with the standard Ae shock eyelet....
silver ft , yellow rear Losi big bore springs...
Pics? Does the upper adjuster need any parts to hold the spring in place?
