i have found the best tire foam is if you cut the crawler memory foams in half and put them in the tires, it made my slash tires grip alot better. all my shocks are laid dowm with 15 in the front and 20 in the rear, i have 1 degree of toe in in the front, and 1.5 of chamber in the front and 1 in the rear. its setup for a short wheel base and stock springs all around with 1/4 inch spacer in the rear springs. i also added about 1/2 inch nitro fuel tubing on the outside of the shock so it dosent bottom out in the rear. pistons are the stock 2 hole and i must say with a 17 turn brushless its hooked up . i am running a 87/20 and it is plenty fast for a short track.
let me say this again the best thing you can do is memory foams in the tires
these are a test set i did as a demo , they will give you all the traction you need at any loose track

i am not a racer but just having the memort foams in the tires made me look good

Crawler foams will be to soft like the stock inserts. The tire will roll over and it wont get side bite traction. I run 1 degree of camber front and back and
0.5 - 1 degree of toe out. I like more turn in myself.

Your probably still running the 25 degree castor blocks. I would recommend the 30's to gain more turn in.;)

What will the inline front axles do to the handling of the truck?

Do you mean the inline front spindles. Im little unclear on that?

I run them on my J82 and they're awesome. It was a push monster with the trailing axles. I have no idea how they would work on the SC10, but they worked wonders on the J82.

Thanks.
I'll have to try them and compare to the standard trailing versions.

Will post when i get done with Fridays racing.

Also a short WB will make the truck rotate quicker through corners.

Thanks buggyking!

Does the slash motor fit in the SC10? If so, does the size of the motor limit the gearing?

In order to run the SC10 with the Slash's, I need to run a FDR of 13.0 which is a 75/15. Think it will fit?

aeRayls 04-29-2009 12:23 PM

That gearing wont fit with any motor, you'd have to use the 87 spur.

raffaelli 04-29-2009 01:20 PM

87 /17 get me close enough. That gonna fit?

I think you'll have to remove the torque ring from the Titan to get it to fit.

Made a mistake of putting in a Mamba Max 5700...wow....almost uncontrollable!! Ass end was everywhere. lol

Have to tone it down a bit and dial it in. This truck is nice. Very.

you're lucky... i bought the 7700 kit...

holy cow.... talk about torque steer at launch.

i think i need to get the 4700 one.

jombo 04-29-2009 01:54 PM

here you go to figure out your FGR
2.6:1 laydown Stealth type
87/20 x 2.61 =11.35
with a 18 tooth pinion its 12.65 and 17T= 13.35
So really your going to be a bit slower, try a 85 spur and a 17tooth
that should be better

Even the 4600 is overkill, I'm looking for something even lower. Going to try a 17.5 and 21.5 next to make the truck more drivable.
