The stadium truck racers at my track are all trying to get their hands on the gear diff for their trucks instead of running the ball diffs and say they do better with them.

FInished my SC10 yesterday...easy truck to build no problems except one that is probably my fault....

Can NOT seem to get one ball cup on a turnbuckle. Tried a few ball cups, doesn't want to thread on.

Oh, and the Airtronics servo I have is too big to fit in the little area onthe chassis so I will have to take one ouf of my B44 and swap it.

This truck looks pretty cool, can't wait to run it. GREAT THREAD! helped alot.

Ran my SC10 for the first time on a track Fri and Sat which was damp, not muddy, just damp. Very fun truck to drive.
While running I noticed the tub seems to catch more dirt than my T4 did. My friend said guys have been using a B4 shell as an inner body. I mounted mine last night. I used Velcro on the sides to secure it to the truck.

I'll bet the turnbuckle has bad threads, I built a b4 about a month or two ago and it had three turnbuckles with bad threads, I tookem to a ae guy at the track I race at and he fixed me up.

Here is my chassis brace.

How thick of Aluminum did you use. I have a couple sheets of 24 X18 inch .080
It is about the same thickness as a stop sign. I am thinking that will work but I am just curoius as to what you used.

Thanks
Loony

Here's mine with a pro-line body on it, I am using the SC10 body for my losi 8 corr. the build went well, our track has just a little bit of snow left on it, we should be racing in a couple of weeks. I also add a pic of Mount Redoubt that erupted a couple of weeks ago, it's just putting out alot of steam right now, I live about 40 miles from it.

Hey Guys,

I ran my sc10 last night, had rear sliding issue and tried adding weight (I added 1.25 oz to rear and .25 + chassis brace on front. Weight didn't seem to affect the traction as much as ride height.

Is there any setup or more rear bite on mid traction dirt track?
Any help on getting more rear traction would help, thanks.

p.s. I'm using 13.5 w/ 23/87, stock tires.

Success! First night out.

Finally got to run my SC10 last night. Only one there against a field of slashes. The track I ran at allows 2.2 wheels and tires in the modified class which is what the slashes ran. I opted for the JConcepts goosebumps for the Sc10 and that was just the ticket. Won all three heats and the A main by a healthy margin. I ran the setup posted by PT Hill Top RC but did use the ball diff transmission. Powered it with a Tekin 13.5 and RS Pro speedo and SMC 5200 Lipos. Truck drove like it was on rails. Much easier to drive than my T4. Thanks to everyone in this forum for all the info needed to win the first time out..JoJo Monte

Went to OCRC saturday and saw 4-5 SC10's racing and yes they are squirly and the drivers were trying different set ups to no avail. Seems like the tires are a huge problem cause their was a Slash that was hooked up pretty good(mind you the driver was really good). Would siping the stock tires help like it does on real offroad trucks(cutting slits on the inside and outside lugs).

Another thing I noticed was that these things were slapping pretty hard on landings compared to the open wheel trucks landing with finess, maybe these things need alot more shock then we think?. It may still be to early in the tuning stages for these trucks yet, we may need more time to make these things perfect.

Some of the guys had weight added to the rears for traction and those trucks didn't look to good on the medium and large jumps, the ass end was dragging in mid air and were landing on one tire usually or both rears not all fours like the open wheel trucks and when it did land on all four they would smack the chassie.

All in all I am impressed with these trucks and am glad I got one we just need to get the balance and the tire situation right.

On another note the Tru Wrap guy was there and let me tell you those wraps are very nice for our trucks looks like an expensive custom paint job.

By no means am I an expert been out of the scene for 22 years till about 2 weeks ago so these are just my uneducated observations.

Congrats guess the JConcept tires are the ticket.

Well no Losi SCX-T(xxx based corr truck) yet so I bought my firet ever AE offroad vehicle.
Some issues I had:
1. missing about 4 screws.
2. rear shock shafts were all messed up
3. internal shims on outdrives failed, caused diff to slip(had to add 2 .1 shims)
4. came with 2 right front arms

Cool truck to race, far more stable than SLASH on my local "high bite track".............still waiting for my LOSI!

Anyone else have these types of issues with there kit?????

I've had all sorts of problems with mine. :flaming: I've had the truck for about 3 weeks and I've only been able to run it about 1 1/2 hrs b/c it's been broken the whole time. It started with a bum 5700kv motor from castle(don't even get me started on their products!), which for about 4 days I was thinking was a slipper clutch issue. Then once I replaced the motor with a 4800kv excelorin, I stripped the idler gear after about 30 min of runtime. Well, I had a buddy that gave me his out of his spare kit so I could run in our first points series race at CapeFear raceway in NC last weekend and I ended up breaking an arm on my second practice lap. After the race, I replaced all the arms with RPM's from the T4 and GT2, and then I had a sun gear strip in the diff within the first 20 min of getting it back in running condition. I've always been an AE fan, but this thing has given me nothing but problems from the minute I opened the box(I too had to break the dremel out to fix a steering bellcrank clearance issue after completing about the 3rd step in the instructions). I guess I should have waited to buy about the 2nd or 3rd edition of this truck so they could have time to work out all the bugs
