Carpet setup

Did u ask the fast guy what his setup was?? Or ask to try out his tires?? I try to help anyone that ask at our track. I t's more fun to win when the competition is close..

My rear links are in the middle hole the front are in the inside, the rear of the car sits lower than the front and the front spring has no space between the adjuster and the top of the shock body (FT shocks )when running red springs, 1/8" space when running gold springs.
What type of carpet is it?? One of the local tracks has a soft loop style carpet and has Way too much traction the other has a flat felt like carpet and foams wont work.. It even changes with the temp. Thicker shock oil's work because the track is smooth, don't have to worry about bumpy sections like clay, some guys are trying to run 50 and 60wt shock oil. Whenever you make a change run enough laps to get use to the feel of the handling, hopefully you'll have a timing system on, Ive thrown down my car in a main and thought it stunk and a few laps in the announcer says over the PA thats a new fast lap.. An then you go hu???
Good luck and always have FUN!!

Can you post your setup sheet or a breakdown that can be transferred to a setup sheet for conditions that work on ozite, very tight track?

I just looked at my notes and my truck, RE READ my last couple of post. SORRY FOR THE INFO CHANGE Ran that setup untill i started running the stock modded tire. Shocks are frt top inside hole, bottom outside, rear top middle bottom outside. rear u can use grey(FT) or silver springs they are very close, front red or gold. Try both and see what u like better.

here is a pic of rear tire. they work on carpet as good as any of the proline or J concepts tires and are cheaper... FOR ME

If I have too much bottom should I loosen the slipper or adjust the power on the motor?

I am running an 8.5 and there is a tad bit too much bottom end and my rear end is breaking loose.

dumb question

My local track is going to blinky mode for stock short course from open timing 17.5. I have a setup that works pretty good but will going to blinky need any adjustments besides gearing?

HighLife420 12-11-2011 03:13 PM

Anyone use a Tekin RS and Redline 17.5t?

Would you mind sharing some ESC and gearing setups?

Track is BG clay, med-high traction, 140x60.

Im trying to decide to run turbo with a tad bit of timing, or no turbo and higher amount of timing.

New to the Tekin RS, was a novak guy for a reallly long time.

you dont use turbo in offroad, there is a 17.5 setup on tekins site, you can start with timing profile 3 with 12 on the motor geared around 25-27/74

What do you guys think of this servo for the sc10?

http://servocity.com/html/hs-7985mg_servo.html

Somebody throw me a setup for this truck please. It does not feel good. Got 2nd in main but still. I was going slow to keep in from sliding.

RED springs 30 weight oil with #3 pistons, shocks inside on tower out on arm
camber link was inside on tower 2 spacers underneath, first on castor block, 2mm bumpsteer. Steering block in middle. 7 limiters

Silver springs 32.5 oil with #1 pistons 3 limiters. inside on arm, 4th hole drilled on tower. link is inside with 1 washer, outside on plastic hub.

-1 camber all around, 3.5 degrees of toe, 2 degrees of anti squat, ball diff is med set. Soft wishbones in rear, super soft rebars in front.

Med high bite.
