I run 3oz. behind the battery right in front of the rear tower along with the AE ballast weight which is another 17 grams. You could try more rear toe but I would add weight first, pretty common with this truck.

You are running 12 of the 7 gram blocks along with the ballast weight? Good grief man! I've always been against adding weight but I recently added 42 grams to the back of my battery tray and it helped a lot. Does adding as much as you said really help more?

I'm running 3 oz on my 8.5 sc10, and a little bit more on my 17.5 (2 oz + 1/4 oz in each rear triangle + ballast)

Latest Set ups

To Whom it May Concern,

Could we please get the latest set ups for the SC10 on the AE website. It is missing some of the latest races. The nationals were just run and Ryan and Brian were 1st and 3rd ( Congrats ).
Thanks and God Bless

yes that much, my truck actually has a push. Honestly I'm looking at taking 1oz out to get it turn more.

If you would put Due's setup on it you wouldn't be having these problems. ;)

Which is better?

alright guys which is the better setup? The Proline conversion to hex wheels or the Associated one? And I guess Jconcepts has something too not sure.
What are the reasons why you think that?

Buckaroo 08-16-2011 07:14 AM

Anyone using the JConcepts overtray? Opinions?

I have one and dont use it. I only bought it just in case a track has muddy conditions. I don't even have it in my pit bag anymore.

AE gearing recommendations?????

.....and another thing that's been bugging the heck out of me. Why is it that the RTR/kit/RS manuals all have one set of gearing recommendations, and the FT has something different(much more conservative)?

The AE one should be the best. All the others are known to have quite a bit of play in them.

The ProLine kit that I just installed has no play in it at all. Maybe it'll develop some, but no more than the AE system, as they're virtually the same:live axles in stock bearings up front and hex adapters in the back. Maybe the early ProLine kits were sloppy, but certainly no more.

My theory is that they think the basher types who buy 90% of the RC cars on the market will want the most top speed and that's it. Truck's gotta have that out of the box "wow factor."

That being said, you should be gearing based on your track size, motor type and motor temp and ignoring their generic recommendations anyway.
