81/28-it fits. But 28 is the largest pinion you can go with on an 81 spur. I know I ran it for 2 weeks. I have since gone to a 78/28. Better balance of torque, speed and temp for my 17.5 setup.

I run the 1258 on both my SC10 2wd and B4.1 and 1256 on my SC10 4x4. When I was running Spektrum tx/rx I threw on a Spektrum glitch buster ($8) and had no issues at all. I am now running Airtronics MX11 tx/rx and have since eliminated the the glitch buster. Great servo with good balance of speed and torque.

Ok thanks. I am running spektrum so I will pick up a glitch buster. That servo cant be beat for that price!

I bought a sc10 used for my nephew. Im getting it ready for him and running into an issue. It turns very quick one direction and only about 80% the other direct. I have reset the turnbuckles to the same length and recentered the servo. I noticed that with the servo unhooked its the same issue. Never ran into this issue before.Any ideas?

The endpoints are probably not set on the radio. If the radio has programmable endpoints, just adjust them. If not, then I am not sure what would be wrong.

I have a stock radio for him. I unhooked the servo with the same results.

If you have the servo off and are still having issues, check for any physical binding. I know it's very vague, but the steering isn't the most complicated thing in the world.

Check the manual maybe the steering knuckle are on the wrong sides. Or sounds more like you have the same side knuckles mounted. There is a right and left fyi.

On my sc10rs I had to set the endpoints different to get the same throw left/right. I think they are @ 90% and 120%.

But he says he gets the same turning travel issue with the servo disconnected so it must be something physically wrong with the steering.

What do you guys feel does a better job for keeping debris out:

outerwears versus inner lexan body (ala jconcepts)

Also, how does the outerwears grip the chassis so it stays on?

lastly, I got an SC10 for my daughter, its a stocker first gen sc10 but has the RPM front a-arms on it and will have an RPM front bumper on it as well.

My question is this, what other parts will add to the durability of the vehicle other than the RPM stuff (concern about the steering knuckles from past T4 experience)

They really do hold up pretty well. There's a lot more body there protecting against breakage. I've demolished a couple of rod ends on the rear camber link and snapped the steering bell crank. Also ripped a hinge pin through the rear arm and decided to go to the RPM's there. Other than that I haven't broken anything in the front end and that's with my heavy-fingered 10 year old driving it most of the time.

I've got a JConcepts undercover and we take it off for racing on cleaner tracks. Its kind of a nuisance. I've got it velcroed in place and it does a fantastic job of keeping the junk out of the chassis.

I actually sold an SCT reluctantly as it didn't have an overtray as out here when they water the track, THEY WATER THE TRACK LOL Man I miss that truck, mid motor was a blast.

Anyway, any opinions on the outerwears?

If any of you guys have RPM stuff you want to sell let me know, could be interested in rear A-arms, carriers, and maybe even the towers too.

outerwear

I have a outerwear cover and it works great, run on a dusty and when watered muddy track the outerwear cover keeps everything clean
