Will the T4 CVD's fit the SC10. Cause the outdrives on the SC10 are shorter in length?:confused:
|
There is no adjustment outside other than the slipper. You could try backing it off an 1/8th at a time and see if this helps the pulling to the left. As far as the ballcups I've never had one pull out. Check your turnbuckle to make sure its threaded properly. I did get one once that didn't have any threads. A 26 sounds alittle high for a 13.5 but if you can temp it try to keep it below 150. The 13.5 is plenty of motor for this truck and thats part of your traction problem. What surface were you running on?

26/75 is fine on a Novak or LRP 13.5. Good bottom end and top. I'm currently running 24/75 with the 8.5 and liking it.

I think your right about the gearing. Don't overheat that motor. Gravel roads aren't the best place to tune!lol I'm not sure how many ballcups you've threaded and I'm not trying to be smart but make sure there even on both sides to.

I'd say the 3 sec. rule!lol Just go down a couple of teeth and you'll be fine.

I see allot about gearing with different motors but what are we actually shooting for , temp or mile per hour? What's the perfect gearing come out to in mile per hour? I think that might help allot of us with gearing specific motors if we knew the target mph.

My goal is to find the fastest (mph) set up, that I can reasonably drive that doesn't overheat. But then again, who doesnt want that? |
actually i think motor specific roll out numbers would be more important to how we gear...
for example if we had a target roll out number for a 10.5t we could gear to meet that number. |
I honestly think that if I drop down two pinion sizes, I would be at 24/75. Running a 13.5 brushless set up, and 2s lipo. This is PLENTLY fast enough for this truck I think. But that's just me and my mediocre driving skills. I am sure there are plenty of people that can handle more speed than this setup.

Well I could explain it but it really depends on what your doing. Playing in the street or racing. Fantom has a great gearing chart for brushless motors on their website but the owners manual of the SC10 also has a chart. The final drive for it is 2.6:1. Take your spur gear size(75) and divide it by your pinion and then multiply by 2.6. This will give you the final drive ratio. Associate recommends 7.50:1 for a 13.5 motor. Which is a 75/26. A 17.5 should be a 75/28. This is plenty fast for most tracks but if you want to go faster try a larger pinion but only go up one or two teeth until the motor reaches that 150/160 degree range. If you overheat these brushless motors once you'll ruin the rotor and you'll begin to notice less power. I don't know about you but $75 doesn't come easy these days.

The Novak 17.5 system is the first brushless I've ever had. When I set it up today, I put a 25t pinion with the 75t spur. I really haven't gotten to run it much yet to see how it does....I should be gearing on the safe side right ?

im running the Novak esc and motor with gearing 28/75...motor hasnt been over 125 degrees. track is pretty tight.
only problem now, i gotta send the Novak system back...cause its cutting out. check the electronics section to see lots of people having the same issue. |
