Finally fun seeing a SCT clearing all the jumps and getting big air compared to Slash bashing I`v seen.....

Close racing happens with or with a slow or fast motor , tires will make no difference either...

The drivers make it close, not equipment...

My thoughts exactly! Just go have fun with your truck. If you don't want to play the motor, esc, tire, etc. game stay home and bitch to the mirror.

Geo that was a 8.5 and you can tell that i was having a blast with the SC10 and that is what counts. And part of racing is to have fun some times.

We built a nice track in the back of a auto shop that I work at. We run for fun about 7 trucks and there all slashes. Anything goes within reason so I myself would love to see spikes or whatever they come up with. I love the look and don't really like t4 for looks. So there's allot of different guys and aspects, not everyone wants all stock racing.

if I bought a turd I would still try to make it the fastest turd, LOL that's the fun.

Exactly why I never bought a T4. They look ridiculous. Always stuck with buggies because they look more like real racers.

Nothing better then walking out your back door , plopping down you truck and running it. I get out of work and run in the back for another two hours LOL

I rent but my landlord about 90, so I'm thinking I could probably build a track and he wouldn't even see from across the street. Ha, just made me think, is there such a thing as a grass track. Couldn't I top dress the grass and roll it to take out the imperfections and keep it really short? And maybe just have movable jumps. What do you think?

wwoodruff 04-17-2009 12:21 PM

Heck yeah, they race on grass "across the pond" .

i run on the grass with my trucks, i usually when the grass needs to be cut i would make a few passes with the tractor and cut it really short where the trucks would run . then the wife would get home and then i would need to finish cutting the grass . they just spoil all the fun  . now i am clearing some brush so hopefully finish this summer a small track in the woods, 50x80 or when ever i get tired of clearing brush should do it

JD,

in your build, the pix you had of the front bulkhead in post #15 , i have the steering rack hitting the top plate.

if removed, it doesnt bind. but once installed onto the chassis, it binds...

any clue?

i also started a thread on AE's forum:

any news on this?

Mine did the same thing until I tightened down the servo saver nut. I put the long screw through it while I was doing this so It would stay aligned, if not the bushings will bind also.

Just get you a pump up sprayer and fill it with diesel fuel and start spraying the track layout. it will soak into the roots and the sun will hit it and walla, no more grass for a while. Then cut the dead stuff as low as you can. Ofcourse the EPA may not like it very much.
