My local course is getting a SC indoor track. I have a Novak GTB with 10.5, a Futaba s9551 servo and spektrum reciever. After I pick up a SC10, am I good to go? Is that servo torquey enough? How do the GTB's run in these cars?

The only other thing I'd recommend is some better tires. There are heaps of options available now. Our track only allows bow ties so I can't really comment on the others. Talk to the guys at your track to get an idea of tires that will work. |
I'm upgrading all my shit to the Factory Team stuff. Just got the Red and Grey springs last night. Hubs are next, followed by CVDs and batt strap.

Does that body line up and work with the Sc10 body mounts??
Drill your own body mount holes, just like on PL's MT bodies and confuse everybody at the track. |

You need to heat the area to break the red Loctite. Just hit it with a propane torch for a moment, then turn the screw.

Your supposed to use heat to remove red locktite. A soldering iron or heatgun should do the trick. I use red permatex threadlock alot, red Surelock if there is a gap between the parts that are being put together.
Never again! |

Wheelbase is the same, SC10's a hair narrower than the Inferno GT.
Drill your own body mount holes, just like on PL's MT bodies and confuse everybody at the track. Proline makes the 14RS body which I cannot decide whether I'm indifferent to the styling or totally hate it (below). But using it as a measurement standard (because it's actually designed for the SC10) and comparing the Kyosho Inferno GT2 Subaru Impreza measurements, I think you might be right that the Kyosho body 'should' fit, with a little wheelbase trimming. A 4mm difference in wheelbase should be fixable. Kyosho Inferno body Length: 22" (560mm) Width: 10.2" (260mm) Height: 7.4" (187mm) Wheelbase 12.5" (316mm) ProLine 14RS body Length: 21.3" (541mm) Width: 9.7" (246mm) Height: 6.5" (165mm) Wheelbase: 12.6" (320mm) http://prolineracing.com/images/products/3319-00.jpg |
I'd love to see someone do that Subaru body. I do wonder about the front of the body though. It would have to be cut for bumper clearance, and even then might dig on nose landings.

Or you could just take the stock SC10 bumper off, and who cares about the body digging in? Flexible, bro

Yikes! Red thread lock? You're right about it NEVER coming out.
I put red thread lock on something once. Then needed to get it off. Broke two tool tips before having to Dremel the part off. Never again. Glad the info helped out!! |
i think the scooby would look fine with the bumber trimmed, I run the silverado bumber over the front of my bumber and have no problems with it digging in and its held up good so far racing wise.

That proline body is the ugliest thing I've ever seen. I thought the bug bodies were bad. Hell no. This takes the prize for ugliest body ever.
Guys please don't make these SC trucks look so gay. You would be ruining the hobby. Haha |
people have ran the scooby bodies on slashes already, apperently they are not good for anything but looking good though.
