J Concepts Goosebumps or the new Proline tires. I was so impressed with the Goosebumps at Nats. I thought on that hard packed clay they might get slick with the dust on top but they performed perfect through practice, qualifying and triple A mains. I couldn't see any wear at all. Used the stock foams and they seem to be as firm as they were when I put them in. I also run these same tires at club races on a loamy damp track with the same results.

We use them too, but I only use a single pair on the rear of my SC10. It really helped stabilize the truck, making it very easy to drive.

What wheels did you mount them on? Stock?

Questions

I have a SC10 coming. I have read 22 pages here and my "old" eyes are tired.

Sorry to ask this, I know somewhere's here it's been asked and answered before.

Normally when I build a car, I like to build it once. What add on's should I be looking to add or change? If you can give me part number also.

I plan on running pretty well stock, 17.5, Tekin RS.

Besides from the stock tires, what other tires should I have?

Are the pro-line front and rear rims (http://www.prolineracing.com/p-697-s...-for-sc10.aspx worth it?

Are aluminum parts worth it? If so which ones? Part numbers?

Shocks?

Any other suggestions for building this?

Tanks for any help.

Unless otherwise stipulated, you might want to get a 13.5 in stead of the 17.5 The 17.5 is SLOWER than the stock Titan that comes with the Slash and the 17t Reedy that comes with the RTR. ;)

Thanks, motors I'm not worried about. I have from 8.5 to 21.5. It's the other things I need to know.

Thanks.

That is an interesting thing to say? My losi 17.5 was dead on with a fast slash and now that guy put a 19T in and we are dead on with my novak 13.5.

rcmark24 07-02-2009 09:33 AM

Slower? My Fantoms don't have any problem going around a Titan motor! The truck is fine out of the box other than tires. I prefer the Goosebumps from J Concepts but the new Proline is fine. Use the black grease in the gear diff but don't fill it. Just a good heavy coat. CVDs are nice if you don't mind springing for them. I run the 30 degree blocks up front because I like steering but the stock 25s work ok. 35wt up front and 30 rear with silver fronts and green rear springs. This is a good starting point.

That was our experience. Two of the guys we race with both got the 17.5, and couldn't keep up with either the Titan or the Reedy. One of them dropped in 13.5, and is now equal in top speed and making all the doubles. Check out this vid. One SC10 is using the Reedy 17t(mine), the blue Slash is running a Titan(stock truck), the other SC10 is running a 13.5 and the silver Slash is actually running a 10.5 ;)

I think that as the Titan/Reedy wears out, it gets slower and slower. That may be why so many people aren't having a hard time keeping up with the 17.5... "In Theory"... :D

Sounds like the 17.5 you guys are running are undergeared.

I also think the 17.5 is slower then a new titan or the reedy. I do still run a 17.5 though(that's whats legal so that is what I will run).

Actually, he started with the stock pinion(I don't remember what it was) and then went up almost 10 teeth! It was STILL slower than the other trucks. He felt like it was such a dud, he tried his 10.5 next. He's been through 2 race days with it. He comes in 3rd or 4th, nobody complains, and we all enjoy the race. ;)

We run two classes:

1. Typical CORR 27T / 17.5

2. 21.5 / Titan / Trinity Spec (which is 20T I think) / Reedy RTR motor

Seems about even within the classes.

LOL, I'd run the Reedy in that second class... BIG advantage.

SC10 setup

I've raced AE cars sence I started racing and am strongly looking into the sc10. I've looked threw alot of the post here but am looking for a race setup for it. It would be on a meadium sized track run wet with a 17.5 motor, and 40c 5000 packs. I know about the tire thing but want to see it i can make it fast on the stock ones.
Also what are all the part #s i need for the losi rear hubs?
Thanks for any and all input.
