To start out I wouldn't do anything else but tires. I prefer J Concepts Goosebumps but the Prolines are very good also. I'm cleaning my stuff up now and I'll find that setup sheet and post it here. B&L is great traction with fluff. Omaha was dusty hard clay and if you got out of the groove it could be slick but this setup for a 17.5 was hooked up.

Just watched the SC A3 video, that was a great race and it looked like you were hooked up. One bobble either way and you could have won that race.

Congrats!

Short Course Truck Class 2010

I hope you had an excellent experience at the Electric Off-Road Nationals.

From all reports, it sounds like a great presentation by HobbyPlex, RMT, and ROAR.

Unfortunately, but fortunately for me, my Real Estate Business is doing well and I had a few transactions which prevented me from attending. I really wanted to be there to ensure the SCT Program was successful, as well as observe the response from our Racing Members first hand.

I would like to hear your observations and thoughts on the Short Course Truck Class. From all the pictures Ive seen posted, the photographers seem to gravitate to them.

I will be compiling responses from Racers and others as we review our plans for this Class in 2010.

Thank you all (Manufacturers, Aftermarket Mfgs, Race Directors, and Racers) for supporting the development of the Short Course Truck Racing Class during this event.

Email or PM with your thoughts.

Regards,
JD Crow
ROAR Technical Director

Its no wonder it made the Car Action webpage, it was the best looking SCT out there!! There were several nice looking trucks, but yours was the best. And it actually ran well too. Wasn't just another purty truck :D

can someone pleas clarify this.. the sc10 stock, it has 2 deg rear toe and 2 deg anti squat built in???

i have added the GT2 1.5 hubs, so would this give me 3.5 deg total..
i also bought the t4 hinge bracket and anti squat shims, said 3 deg on the pack... does that mean with both shims it will add 3 deg more anti squat??

The SC10 comes with 3 degrees of toe in and the rear block has 2 degrees of anti-squat built in. The T4 block has 3 degrees of toe in but no anti-squat, but should come with 1 and 2 degree shims.

thanks for your reply. the rear block having 3 degrees of toe in, that is total right?? so 1.5 each side... would that equal to 3 deg each side including my GT2 hubs?

thanks again

What are some good tires f/r for a stock SC10 (7cell bat) on a dry, rutted, semi hard packed, dusty track (no blue groove at all)?

xv-townboy 07-01-2009 01:11 PM

How do you guys thread on your shock ends (eyelets) without scuffing up the shock shaft?

use a thick towel around the shock shaft to prevent the pliers from scratching. Or you can buy specially made pliers that have a hard plastic insert just for holding shock shafts...I think its made by tamiya?
