Ok so from what I've read I should update the esc to the newest programming. So I borrowed a friends castle link and downloaded the castle link program ver. 3.10 but the program doesn't recognize the sidewinder. Its not even in the drop down menu with the other options of esc. What to do?

Is it ok to run a Mamba Max speedo on 5 cells? They say 6-12 cells so I thought i'd check first..

Are they usually fine if you crash or something and have to start off from a stop again?

I have not had any problems getting off the line with my car but if you lay into the power hard you can get sideways pretty easily but so do all the other brands. I use lowe start power and high timing on my setup with the punch control turned off.

Default 7700

I was racing my mamba 7700 the other day and found i have a bad bearing. I took it apart and measured the bearings and I think they are 5x11x5 so I ordered some abec 5 ceramic metal shielded bearings for it. Does this sound ok to the experts? Thanks Stan P.S. I set a new track record and won the a-main with a bad bearing!

the shaft where the bearing sits is deffinetly 5mm, so yeah that bearing size sound about right to me. just be careful putting her back together because thos little screws that hold the endbells are very fragile...

I can't seem to find anything on google nor this entire site, partly because I dunno what to search for:

I am looking for whether anyone has compared different sensorless motors with the CM-36 motors. I am looking into going to something around a 5700/ 7.5-8.5 turn motor, since the spur/pinion combinations I have are more suited for a higher turn/lower kV. The 6900kV I am running now is getting rather hot.

http://www.teamtekin.com/blmotors.html

there's a sensorless 5800kv & a sensored 7.5 & 8.5 that work with sensorless esc's aswell. running a vortex 7.5 with high gearing, & my mate is running an EX 8.5 geared low, pretty close performance wise but the 7.5 just gets it over the EX...

I would go with a 7.5 if its for your TT01, im currently running a low 8 FDR with my 7.5 & it gets warm, if you do decide to go lower in FDR, i suggest a fan for both the motor & esc...

I sold my TT-01 on account of it breaking due to the brushless system, and figured that I'd move up to a TA-05.

For now I'll stick with my 6900kV, but I think I'll eventually switch over to a higher torque motor since I don't really need to be concerned with speed in drifting.

stick to a 7.5 or even an 8.5, great speed & awesome torque ideal for drifting. If orion had a vortex in 8.5, i would have grabbed that instead of the 7.5...

if your using lipo, the orion/speedpassion should run quite fine with the MM. I have heard of a few guys having problems with the lower turn motors, but i also know a few with great results...
