In the instructions it says to put a rubber o ring inside the outdrive cup before installing the dogbone (or uni).
What Kail has done is use a small piece of foam (red spongey thingey) instead.
Works ok at first, but breaks down after a while, as does the Tamiya rubber o ring.

I understand. My day is now complete. Now I can sleep instead of staying up all night wondering about what this incredible mini speed secret is and why no one would tell me.
Is this some sort of new spongy bearing that someone invented to finally quell the squealing pig racket of an M-02 transmission? Is the silicone o-ring the next, high tech step in the evolution of mini trans quieting technology? Has someone discovered that you can replace the stock mini speed control with a piece of foam and it works just as well?
Those are the questions that would have otherwise kept me up all night!

Jim - are the medicines in Canada only half strength at the moment? Your pills don't seem to have kicked in yet...
