i try to run vented cb's so it's easy for me to have a peak and see if the shoes require service ;) i just clean up the edge's with a dremmel, scuff the inside of the cb with some sandpaper and good...

i use varsol to dunk the part's, scrub with tooth brush, rinse with brake cleans, dry with towel and re-assemble...
