I thought 17 would be ok but obviously not. Can I get some ideas on what you people run? If I go much larger than 75 tooth spur it may pertrude from the bottom on the chassis but running a 75 tooth I cannot get a pinion to mesh that will give a 10-11 gear ratio?
Another question I have is. I have ordered the spur adaptor, centre pulley conversion kit, with the 16 tooth centre pulleys etc... Do I need to use TA-05 pulleys on my front spool and rear diff to obtain a 2.25 internal ratio?

Are you using 48 pitch gears or 64 pitch? Can't tell from the picture.
Also, yes you would need to use the pulleys from the TA05 or the new alternated pulleys from the MRE to obtain the 2.25 drive ratio. With the center pulley conversion, the number of teeth on the gears stay the same, at 16t.
For the track that I race at (using the Novak BL 4.5R velocity motor) I have been advised to gear between say 9.5 and 11 to avoid any thermal issues. So I figured 10-10.5 would be my best bet. I am using 48p spurs and pinions.

Need Help!
I just bought the 415MSX/MRE and see that it comes with the front spool as standard equipment. I am planning on running it indoors carpet rubber.
Question:
1) Will the spool work on Carpet?
2) I'm thinking I'll need a front diff. (Where can I get one?)
Anyone with a good Rubber/Carpet setup please let me know - Your help would be appreciated!!
Thanks!
Todd

As far as I know a spool isn't needed on carpet because of the amount of grip. A diff or a one way would be recommended imo. Front ball diff can be found here.

A one-way may work, but it has too much steering.
I've found both tires to be good, if you need more rear grip try RP30s or CS27s in the front.
Edit: I used Jack the Gripper traction compound all around.

Is there a new one-way coming out for the MRE? When?

My maiden voyage will be this weds.... Can't wait to try it out! I've been running an RDX for the last 2+ years - and have been obcessing about owning on of these ever since I came back from the IIC.
Obcessive / Compulsive disorder - I think?? I guess it's part of the Hobby?
Thanks again!
I used to run the Mi2 and when I bought the TRF415MS and added the upgrade to make it an MSX I just looked at it and dribbled like Homer Simpson when he thinks of beer. Awesome car you will not be disappointed Good luck with the first outing!!
