I've had issues with heat in my 5700 MM with the xxx-t cr. I've put in 15/82 and still hitting 200+. Someone has suggested going the other way with the pininon, with the theory that with a larger pinion the motor will turn less RPM at the same speed. Everything around here and manuals suggests lower tooth pinion.

I'm running 8000 Maxamps 2s lipo. After 10 minutes, I'm at 160. Guaranteed 200 at 20 minutes. Running on packed clay track, and also another track with loamy dirt conditions. Seems to run hotter on the loamy dirt.

CC says the heatsink will only reduce temps 10. He also said make sure there is no binding in my drivetrain/tranny.

I'm out of patience. Next time it hits 200, I'm shipping it back.

Not sure where your timing is set at but lower timing helps to keep the heat a little lower. Another thing you can do is attach a small fan onto the top of the speedo as that will also help cool down esc on those longer runs.

Timing is at the lowest setting (zero?)

Hello. I have a problem with Mamba max 7700 combo. With 2 my friends we buyed 3 combos before 1.5 years, but even from then my mamba wasnt nothing special. My other 2 friends are very satisfied and said ther combos are just perfect, got lots of power and woundering how mine cant even spin the tires on full throtle. Their monsters just go crazy and everything seems to be perfect for them, but not for me. We use the same batteries. So I run on 2 cell 8000mah with almost all setings on low. Punch on 50%. I have the 1.17 version on the ESC. Temps goes very high(more then 200F) thatswhy I keep all on low. I run HPI super electro. Normally its with 81/36 spur/pinion. I run my mamba with 93/24. Its the lightes possible gear ratio I can use and still I dont have the needed acceleration and the ESC goed over 200F. Motor is around 170F.
My question is this:
What can be wrong with my mamba? Is there something in the ESC that can be factory damaged or not properly working that can make this low power symphtoms? My friends are woundering how could mine mamba be so slow?
Everything works fine, I havent got any problem with operation, or anything else, just this low power all the time. When I hit the throttle my car accelerate slowly like a fast toy. I've calibrated the mamba several times, checked the radio, everything is good. Is my combo still in guarantie and eventually how can I send it from Bulgaria for checking whats wrong with it?
Is there anything I can do to find the problem? Its just not fast like the mamba max 7700 combos, that my friends run and as it should mamba max must be

I really hope to give me any idea what should I do.
Thank You,
S.Ganchev

With a MMM V3 the for the first power up the fan came on and cycled briefly- now programed, with the latest firmware and calibrated with the radio, it does not come on at all. 150 deg is not reached, but initially when powered up it would cycle to say "im ok" until binded with tx. Anyone else having this problem? ESC is brand new.

Can the Mamba Max esc be programed to make a loud beep when the Lipo Battery voltage drops to 3 volts per cell?
if so how can this be Done?

No, you can't... The speed control can't measure individual cell voltage. The speed control also doesn't have a speaker.

Joe, I have still not heard anything from you yet. What do I need to do with this brand new $75 non-working sidewinder esc?

Thought you guys would enjoy this. First run of my high speed car I'm writing a conversion article for (don't ask for more info, it'll be in the article). Just had to share this with you guys. Geared for 140mph...have a "little" tweaking to the car before I'm going to get there....

Joe Ford: Do you know how many forward throttle steps the mamba max has and what the wattage is on the 5700 motor?

Thanks,
David
